Are there any Freepers who support John McCain?
If you support Mr. McCain, can you make the case for your man?
Can you make the case without bringing up the War?
Can you make the case without bringing up Judges?
Can you make the case without using any ACU ratings? (Those don't impress anybody.)
Can you make the case without insults or telling people to "calm down"?
Can you make the case without the type of lying and dishonesty we've come to expect from John McCain and his special friend Mike Huckabee?
Can you make the case without trashing Barack Obama?
Can you make the case without using Hillary Rodham Clinton as some kind of boogyman or boogyperson?
Can you?
The ball is in your court.
You mean the way he treated Don Rumsfeld?
Oh Im not denying McCain that is a RINO jerk. I would much rather have a conservative, but that isnt an option. Im saying either the Democrat or Republican nominee will be the next Commander in Chief next year, and in an active war, we need him over the Democrat pick as that CIC. We could have bombings on our streets that jeopardize our families if the GWOT isn't handled right. It is very very serious. McCain doesn't have many redeeming qualities, Pro Life and Iraq are just about it. Our troops need better, but he is the best we got to choose from.
Id rather have Tom Tancredo, Duncan Hunter, Fred Thompson or Mitt Romney, but they dropped leaving McCain to get picked.
Sorry we disagree on this Checkers, I have always enjoyed your posts.
He has a large lump where the cancer was. He has had for sometime.
As far as justifying that to you, not hardly. It's obvious your mind is made up and I don't see any reason to debate the issue with you.
Yes I am going to support him, I'm not going to act like a spoiled child and run away just because my first choice may have been someone else.
John McCain is a liberal wearing an R before his name.
The alternative is a liberal wearing a D
Liberalism will cause this nation many problems 4 to 8 years from now. Those problems will be exploited by the opposing party to win the next election.
Which party do you prefer get blamed for what liberalism will do to this country?
I liked Romney, started to like Huckabee but I now support McCain. He’s not the conservative I’d like see but he’s not Obama or Clinton. McCain can be pulled to the right by his party. President Clinton or Obama will only get pulled farther left by their party and the MoveOn.org folks. If either is elected it’ll be for 8 years not 4 with a lot of ACLU liberals on the Supreme Court. The MSN will serve as their propaganda arm as they did with Bill. Their reelection in 2012 is already assured as well as our defeat in the WOT if they win.
*butchered quote from "Fiddler on the Roof"*
McCain made a nice speech today.
I’ll now gladly support him for dog catcher.
He needs to do the work. That will be his road. He has ‘till November.
You got that right!
I said a few weeks back I would not endorse anybody - because as soon as a poster here endorses anybody, out come the bashers.
Me and my big mouth - guess I forgot that promise to myself. Tee hee.
Can you make the case for strong border security without:
1. referring to Mexicans
2. referring to terrorists or terrorism
3. referring to law or the breaking of law
4. referring to amnesty
5. referring to crime or criminals

Finally a true conservative like me...
I agree. I cannot and will not.
he also voted against the Medicare prescription program. And was he against No Child Left Behind?
He is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick...but, just a bit.
That tells me nothing. Has McCain released his Medical Records?
I’ll speak to the question of his ACU ratings.
First of all, he used to be more conservative than he is now, I suspect because Arizona used to be more conservative than it is now. Here are Romesh Ponnaru’s figures, from The Corner:
McCain’s ACU Ratings [Ramesh Ponnuru]
2000: 81
2001: 68
2002: 78
2003: 80
2004: 72
2005: 80
2006: 65
In recent years, in other words, he has been dragging down his average, sometimes slightly and sometimes substantially.
Second, ACU ratings don’t mean squat if the liberal actions are really important and the conservative actions are minor. McCain has been responsible for pushing some really BIG liberal ideas through the senate. That’s different from being one of a hundred people voting on a minor bill where your vote doesn’t actually have any effect.
Well said Sir, we don't want that to happen again.
