Clint Eastwood: Ann Coulter, others, 'masochistic'

Clint Eastwood, actor, producer and himself a smalltown mayor, sees a sense of masochism in the Republicans who say they cannot support John McCain's bid for the White House.
In an interview with FOX Business Network’s Neil Cavuto live from Pebble Beach, Calif., at the site of the AT&T National Pro-Am Golf Tournament aired this evening, Eastwood talks politics.
Eastwood has this to say about Ann Coulter’s claim that she would vote for Hillary Clinton over John McCain: "Conservatives, often times, are very masochistic. They say, 'I’d rather not show up than have so-and-so. If it’s not my guy then I won’t show up’. You can’t be that way.”

The Democrats had a moderate who compromised with the Republican party in Lieberman - and what did they do to him? They threw him out of the party.
Masochistic, I don’t know, but definitely anorexic. I did hear that interview with Mr. Eastwood this afternoon.
Once again, the notion is expounded that voting for someone other than is expected of you as a Republican is considered “not showing up”.
I can be very stern at times.
But, maybe she would like that.

You can still be friends with others of differing politics. Clint is a Republican with libertarian leanings.
Finally, sounding a bit like McCain on the campaign trail, the actor turned producer has this to say about political spending: “Both parties and both houses seem to be spending like drunken sailors. No offense to the Navy, of course.”
He hit that nail on the head.
I admire Clint. He is a great actor and producer. Sometimes however he chooses poorly in friends & casting for his films. I owned every film he put out until he started casting people like Sean Penn.
I just heard on fox (not fox news) that leiberman will be attending the Republican party convention rather than the dems. i thought I heard him say earlier this year he could not support Obama’s or Hillary’s position on the war.

think of the troops - a vote for McCain at least doesn’t pull the rug out from under the troops and their sacrifice in Afghanistan and Iraq. that is quite a reason. life isn’t perfect and full of tough decisions.
I’ll tell you what, Clint. I’ll show up as long as McCain doesn’t put Huckabee on the ticket.
