My decision whether to vote McCain or not is now wholly depending on his VP choice. If it’s a solid conservative I’ll hold my nose and vote for him.

But why? A conservative veep won't do any good unless McCain drops dead in February '09.

Hasn’t McCain already hinted that he intends to serve only one term? He’ll be too old for a second campaign anyway. A good VP now would do some good.

“...A conservative veep won’t do any good unless McCain drops dead in February ‘09.”

That could very well happen. That’s how “that damn cowboy” Teddy Roosevelt got be be prez.

Even with McInsane healthy, a real conservative could take some activists measures. It is not unusual for a VP to not get along with the Prez so why not go all out.
