Hasn’t McCain already hinted that he intends to serve only one term? He’ll be too old for a second campaign anyway. A good VP now would do some good.
After McCain gets done further liberalizing the party, could his veep win? A VP has a very strong association with their president, for good or bad. Bush I rode Reagan’s coattails into the WH. Anyone associated with McCain will likely NOT win a Republican election - perhaps for the Dems....ie., how many of our candidates were trying to associate themselves with Bush?
A VP will only do good if McCain has a serious heart attack or stroke.
