A VP will only do good if McCain has a serious heart attack or stroke.
Agreed: I believe ALL our misgivings about McCain are correct.
Sigh - as I’ve said before, I’m going to have a very tough next ten months, and I hope his Veep choice is someone I can really agree with.
Bullshit. It's people like that (maybe you, maybe not) that have put us in this position in the first place. Kudos to all you morons who for years here kept saying how flipping great Bush was and that everyone should shut up. You all got us where we are now, a McCain nomination. You want to vote for him? Be my guest. I'll be damned if I am ever again going to vote for the lesser of two evils when there is really no lesser. Such great conservatives you are. The Founding Fathers would be so proud of your convictions. LOL
The one issue that I could believe that McCain might change his position on once in office is the torture question. Reality and his personal responsibility for thousands of American deaths could refocus his sight about this. As one of hundreds of legislators, it is easy to engage in grandstanding about this type of thing.
new tagline
I agree with you, but I haven’t thought of a single conservative candidate well known enough who could actually get more votes than ODumbo/Hitlery and McCain.
I wish I could - but them’s the facts.
I will as well. What I'm really concerned about is the next 4-8 years after that though. I personally do not think I can bear another Bush introduced Clinton Presidency.
I have a new tagline, too. I am not happy about it. :(
“I could go on but that would lead to profanity and the moderators have already suspended me for that...”

ROTFLMPO !!!
I LOVE your letter from “American Conservatives” to John McCain!
I think that regardless of the result of the election, I may just have to spend the next four years drunk or in jail or in a hermitage to avoid all knowledge of the news.
Could you just give me the short version, please? My guess, 1. abortion 2. withdrawal from Iraq That about sums it up because I don't believe that he will appoint real conservative judges and I think that Iraq is only a front on the WOT and McCain has been terrible on homeland security, interrogation, wire taps and Guantanamo. Just say NO to McCain and Huckabee.
I keep seeing Florida’s HyperRINO Governor Charlie Crist behind his podium. Is this a sign?
That is not a small list. Do I agree with him on Guantanamo? No. But is he going to release the terrorists or weaken the WOT? No.
Bingo, you hit the only two areas where he has substantive policy differences with the Dems from what I know. Since we haven’t really heard much from him in the way of Economic or Foriegn Policy, there may be more but I doubt if there is any real distinction in these two areas either.
BTTT!
On further reflection: maybe probably should start now - it’s probably McCain’s best chance of getting my vote. I will accept a donation from McCain’s campaign for a bottle - that would be more valuable for them than a campaign ad.
The gang of 14 designed to derail objectionable judicial appointments, the McCain/Kennedy Immigration proposals, the recent conversion to make the Tax Cuts permanent, his regular votes to pass funding for the Agriculture dept., etc. are to me more indicative of what will actually be pressed under the very unlikely event of a McCain Presidency than these words spoken now in his quest to obtain Conservative support.
His actions belie his words IMO.
Government millionaires. I'm sick of that crap.
