After McCain gets done further liberalizing the party, could his veep win? A VP has a very strong association with their president, for good or bad. Bush I rode Reagan’s coattails into the WH. Anyone associated with McCain will likely NOT win a Republican election - perhaps for the Dems....ie., how many of our candidates were trying to associate themselves with Bush?

HAAAAA!
Absurd nonsense. The Conservative agenda sailed thru the house and then died in the US Senate at the hands of Obstructer in Chief McCain. Don’t try to rewrite History. McCain spent the last 8 years trying to “moderate” the party. Don’t come here NOW an manufacture a myth blaming the House Republicans for McCain deliberate policy of obstruction.
McCain wanted to rebrand the GOP as Democrat Lite. Well he got his wish. Don’t come here now and try to manufacture a myth about him being some sort of Conservative hero.

John McCain = Bob Dole 2.0
If McCain does get the GOP nomination, the big question will then be:
Does McCain lose in November by more or fewer states/Electoral votes than Bob Dole lost in 1996?
Dole 1996: 31-19 States/379-159 Electoral Votes

. It is not unusual for a VP to not get along with the Prez so why not go all out.
We're clutching at straws. I guess that's all we got.
I still think gridlock is our best option.

You are not going to get a mea culpa from McCain so I suppose with your philosophy we ought to resign ourselves to another 8 years of the Clinton mafia in the white house.

McAzatlan is pro LaRaza has spoken at their convention in the past, hates the constitution, spits on our constitution and thinks nothing of stabbing conservatives in the back. McAzatlan is ten times worse than any liberal.

You’re kidding, right? Huckabee called the Club for Growth, the Club for Greed. That kind of Sh!^-talk has no place in the Republican Party. Dude is a Christian Socialist who would nanny-state us into a Constitutional crises by sidling up to Democrats on far too many issues...far more so than McCain will/would.

Oh,...sure. Not a problem. And we must also agree that those who decide they cannot vote McCain, and Hillary and Obama wins and the results are catastrophic for four plus years, must take responsibility for their actions to enable it. And vice versa.
cheers.

During one of the Republican Debates, McCain was asked about HIS "McCain/Kennedy" Immigration Bill. The question was, "would you vote for it now?" His words were, "It'll never come up for a vote." When pressed again, no answer but the same. He knows the legislature wouldn't do it so he doesn't have to reveal his real feelings on the matter.......Pure arrogance, stubborness to hold to fine distinctions, and a look of hate in his eye for the question poser.
The man is an arrogant, now over-confident, liar! I've said it before....he may have changed the tune he's now singing, but he hasn't changed his heart, mind and soul.
As far as disagreeing with the Democrats on a 'slew' of things, he's tipped my pail with illegal immigration, tax cuts, thwarting a President honestly trying to make a difference, and campaign finance reform.
Screw him! I'll be sitting this one out.

Do you know much about Bob Schaffer, the conservative who's campaigning for Wayne Allard's seat? I'm looking into him, since having conservatives in congress will be more important than ever next yesr, regardless of who's in the White House. Doug Hutchinson, the conservative (yes, really!) mayor of Fort Collins, is a long-time friend of mine, and he says Schaffer is a great conservative.
Since I no longer have any hope for the presidential race, I'm going to check out Schaffer and, if he's as good as Doug says, support his campaign.

Nicely stated. Many a RINO supporter should be reminded of how many times McCain undermined the conservative agenda while he served in the senate!

Good words, but where’s the beef, McCain? Pick a fight in the Senate to advance a conservative ideal, get it passed and signed into law. THEN, I will consider voting for you.
Looking at the turnout numbers so far, you have a long way to go to be competitive with either Dem candidate.

I'll be voting for McCain in November, but can we please agree that those who decide they cannot vote McCain should be respected for their decision as well? I am not a fan of McCain, but will be voting for him as well. I want a Republican in the Whitehouse. As far as respect, it goes two ways. Those around here who cannot vote for him, should also respect us that will vote for him.
