How Many Freepers Will Leave The GOP?
Man50D

Posted on 02/07/2008 10:39:44 AM PST by Man50D

Romney has now bowed out of the race leaving only McCain, Paul and Huckabee. It's impossible the latter two have any chance of garnering enough delegates to win the nomination. That leaves McCain. He has slapped Conservatives in the face more than enough times by siding with Socialist Democrats on issues. It's clear McCain will take the GOP farther to the left. The question now becomes how many of you have had enough of the GOP abandoning Conservatism and will in turn leave the GOP?

Sorry, Mr. Savage, but anything with the word “nationalist” in it sounds like NAZI. Better think of another word.

Third party might be needed, but calling it something akin to a flunky party of the past is not a good idea.

Sorry I can’t sell out the military just to prove a political point. I will take my chances with McCain over Hillary.

Same here.

I too have written that I just might vote for John Galt. It would be hilarious to see a clueless on-air political reporter asking "Who is John Galt".

It would be a classic YouTube moment - I guarantee none of the MSM whores ever came across that piece of literature during their formative years.

If they had, maybe they wouldn't be MSM whores...

Same here. In the last two elections I voted for the best of the worst.

You mean like the last time we had a Republican majority in Congress?

Hey, they were pretty good when Clinton was in office. It was when Bush got in power that they turn into pork spending liberals.

That is an excellent point. They may not get my money, but I am NOT going to vote out of spite and have Hillary or Obama win. I may be a Conservative, but I’m NOT stupid.

I’ve worked for Republicans since I screwed my grade point average missing classes working for Goldwater. I’ll still work for those who are conservative, but the rest can KMA. I WILL NOT VOTE FOR OR SUPPORT A LIBERAL!

Ditto!

Well Said!

I'm a Conservative First and foremost!

Just changed my party affiliation online to “No Preference”. I’ll join back in whenever someone who is not McCain gets the nomination.

I’ll still vote against “she of cloven hoof”, but neither the GOP or the RINO McCain will get a cent from me.

And with the amnesty that’s coming our way the Republican party will be equally irrelevant.

“Besides, McCain has said that he’s only in for one term.”

He also swore it wasn’t amnesty (mccain-kennedy) and he also swore to uphold and defend the constitution of the United State (mccain-feingold)

“Oh but he really, really means it this time....with sugar on top!”

Good for you. Jumping ship when times get rough is why Perot put Slick Willy in office. It makes no sense at all to leave now.

It took to post 78 this time for someone to spout the Perot Myth. Good to see FR getting more and more sensible

Perot took votes from both Clinton and Bush. He did not cost anyone an election. This myth about Perot in 92 and 96 is like the myth about catching STDs from toilet seats

The Perot Myth is another reason why we have crappy GOP candidates....lets put it to rest

You are a man of honor and character! I am sticking in the fight too! If McCain gets in I will be hounding my Conservative Congressman, John Culberson, and US Republican Senators to LEAN on McCain to follow the principles of the party.

I'm in in for the fight! Only CINO FReepers take their ball and go home. NO WAY WILL I ALLOW HILLARY OR OBAMA INTO THE WHITEHOUSE!

That's the way to fight! Thank you!

Hillary? Hell No!

Obama? Oh ,Hell No!

I think a lot of us will end up coming to the same conclusion. My own big negatives on McCain, for example, is the McCain Feingold Act and being against drilling in ANWR. But since McCain IS for nuclear power, he could well trade off ANWR to the Greens exchange for a more favorable stand on "carbon free" power.

And who among us would rather have Hillary or Obama in charge of the military while there's a war on?

True enough!

What does that say about how they will act if McCain is elected?

Looks like it’s going to be H. Ross Perot all over again, and another Clinton gets swept into office as a result.

GOP started leavig me in 88. Been holding my nose compromising principle for party for 20 years. I apologize to all subsequent generations for the part I played in bringing our nation to this sorry point.

I have clearly misused the privalege of voting in the past. That being the case it would be better for my children and grandchildren if I just shut up and stay home.
