Mitt Romney may very well have been the most competent, intelligent, accomplished and morally pure man to run for POTUS in the past 30 years.
But I guess the American people are looking for someone who talks purdy, has two X chromosomes, or has a history of shafting the Republican Party from the inside.

Don’t underestimate the impact of the Mormon thing as well. IMO that, the MSM and the McCain/Huckabee tag-team lovefest made it virtually impossible for this otherwise supremely qualified candidate to actually win in the GOP as it is currently structured.

Romney clearly was the most intelligent of the Republican candidates. I understand he was in the top 10% of his law school class at Harvard. He also has a exemplary record with his family that is deeply devoted to the man.
This is in stark contrast to McCain who finished fifth from the bottom of his class at Annapolis and who had an extensive affair before marrying his wife Cindy.
Mitt’s problem was three fold: (1) he was a Mormon (2) His former liberal views on social issues (3) his failure to use the economy has his primary issue from the outset.
