But things have looked bleak before.

The LEFT has literally chosen the GOP candidate. The left has never been so far left, their candidates have never been so controlled by their radicals. They never had a Hillary-Soros before.

They are not going to allow conservatives a shot again and they might do the same at the state level. The media will not give even the bad coverage to conservatives, they'll be ignored almost totally.

The party is over. The country might be.

Romney's speech the night of "super Tuesday" was a real barn burner.

I only wish he had communicated with that kind of conviction all along.

Keep fighting the good fight, Mitt. We need you on our side.

I don’t want to revisit the Hunter/Fred wars, frankly.

Your post suggested otherwise.

I didn’t start off a Romney supporter but after Fred left, he was my guy.

Unfortunately, there is apparently a litmus test for how long you had to be pro-life before you can campaign for the GOP nod.

Hopefully in 4 years, after campaigning for conservatism he can run again.

It’s also disgusting that the fact that Romney was spending his own millions was an issue...i’d much rather have a president who is independently wealthy than somebody who needs the job to pay bills.

With McCain’s “greedy people on Wall Street need to be punished” and Huckabee’s populist schtick, it’s obvious the GOP is now the party of envy, class warfare and socialism.

I suggest everybody who cares about the future of conservatism and our country not just the fact that McCain is the lesser of two MAJOR evils write in Ronald Reagan in November.

I was never down on Romney’s business success. The class envy and plain old envy is not a principle I admire, at all.

And my mom slammed Romney. She likes Obama. But then again, mom doesn’t like accountability, hard work or anything like that. Handouts she likes.

That kinda makes her the exception in the family. But not to worry. I pay all of mom’s bills. Every single one of them.

Romney deserved better. He really did. But the purists here can now be so proud. This nation will tilt further to the left and all their principles will be further buried.

Happy now?

Yup, Bush cut the deal during the 2004 campaign with McCain. Then he loads Romney’s campaign with his people. How convenient.

You presume the choice is only between “Giant Douchbag and a Turd Sandwitch”. Why should I agree that my vote is limited to only those two?

.The base is NOT motivated at all. McCain inspires no one.

If he realizes this then maybe he will pick Fred Thompson for running mate to get the conservative base.

Huckabee lied to the Minutemen founder, I don’t see why he wouldn’t lie to Hunter.

Juan Williams has his head so far up the butts of the Clintons that it is both embarrassing and disarming to say the least.

He has tried to say from the git go that Obama is the candidate of the black voter ONLY.

Every time I hear Juan I am more and more perplexed and keep asking, "What the devil is it with this guy?"

Why is that so hard for people to understand?

Oh we understand it quite clearly. Its just that coming from a troll like you, who has done nothing but dump crap relentlessly for days on this moral individual, the message its devoid of credibility.

What this country needs is a wake-up call of the Hillary or Obama kind.

The wakeup call will be in the form of socialized healthcare, expiration of the Bush tax cuts, extension of the payroll tax, higher corporate taxes (maybe with punative rates on the evil oil and drug companies), a few more Ginsburgs on the Supreme Court (forget about rolling back abortion on demand then, in most our lifetimes), a whole host of newly legal "undocumented" immigrants, a rested and refreshed Al Queda, just to start.

The damage will be long-term and irreversible to our fair republic.

I never said anything about an “ad hominen attack”, which is a device used when you are debating.

You weren’t debating, you were simply gloating by making a false charge denigrating the character of another person, and I pointed out that your charge was both false and absurd.

It would be like the guy who comes in last in the New York Marathon laughing at the 2nd-place finisher and calling him a failure.

Glad to see some honesty here.

I was a Fred guy, but voted for Romney in Florida...so the vote wasn’t wasted, anybody but that backstabbing McCain.

Now in fully intend on returning the knife in the general.

FReepers in dysfunctional disarray!

Dictatorship from the bottom up - is that our new concept?

But where will we ever find a perfect candidate to represent all of us?

Ah...there’s the rub.

I hope all the sanctimonious, holier-than-thou types who have been posting their non-stop slams against Romney over the past week are real proud of themselves right about now. (And I say this as an original supporter of Duncan Hunter.)

Their hearts were in the right place. Unfortunately, their heads weren't... and they allowed Soros to play us against one another like a kid playing a video game. The evidence was everywhere, and their blinding hatred for Romney prevented them from ever looking at it. Soros did this. He's been working on McCain since the Shadow Conventions in 2000, pushing McCain-Feingold, opening our primaries to libs and independents, pushing open borders, global warming hysteria, firearms registration, staging this perfect coup of the GOP. They didn't care enough to look at the evidence. And here we are.

If his net is only that much, I may have him beat — depends on how you value oil reserves.

Maybe you should run for president if you think you can do better. You're not a Mormon are you?
