I was originally a Hunter supporter but since he got behind Huckabee I have lost respect for him. I live in AR and I hate Huckabee, I am not one of the blind Arkies who voted for Huckabee because he was their home-boy. Huckabee is the GOP equivalent of Clinton, believe it or don’t, I don’t really care. I wish all the Huckabee supporters here had him as their Gov.

Yep, I don’t have to contribute, volunteer, or care when McCain goes down in flames.

I was a Fred guy originally, but I was going to vote for Mitt in the Texas primary. Wasn't a fraction as enthusiastic about it as I would have been for my first choice, but I loathe McCain and Huckabee and neither will get my vote. Damn. The primary is on my birthday. What a crappy gift.
I hear that. Vote for Romney anyway. He only suspended his campaign, I think he can still pick up delegates (assuming Texas is not a winner take all). And have a Happy Birthday no matter what you do!

The problem with the Party today is that there are lots of true Republicans in Name Only and I dont mean position-wise I mean committment-wise who would never lift a finger to advance the cause. Its someone elses job, not theirs. They wont spend a Saturday afternoon, missing a football game, to make things happen on their block. If you want a revolution, you have to fight. I believe that the Republican Party is the best place to stage that fight from, and I will continue to work for the cause. Ronald Reagan didnt go 3rd party - he brought this party around, with the help of thousands of other patriotic Republicans.
AMEN!!!
Say, are you running for office? I could vote for a bloke like you!!

Just as Oceania has always been at war with Eurasia, so will many Freepers announce that they have always been faithful supporters of John McCain, the last best hope of conservatism.
When Fred Thompson failed to catch on, suddenly a good many Freepers discovered that Mitt Romney was an honest conservative in Rockefeller Republican disguise.
For all the huffing and puffing about voting third party or staying home in protest, they’ll be pulling the lever for McCain to stop Hillary or Obama.

You are the one who made a personal attack, labelling Romney an “epic fail guy”. If you don’t want to be attacked for making false attacks on people, then just don’t do it.
To: af_vet_rr
If Hillary runs, McCain wins.Oh, of course. The MSM will cover for McCain and slam Hillary. It's so obvious. /s

“I think it would be cool as hell if Romney had his people feed a false story just to burn Mark Halperin.”
Actually, it would be cooler than hell, if Myth leaves and if FRed threw his back in the ring, and went ballistic on McManiac.
Yes, that would be cool to watch. :)

I hope that Mitts conversion is real, and if he shows it over the next four years, Id take a chance on him then if the Dems get in this time.
Likeability and believability are things we will really need in the fall, against either Hillary or Obama, or a ticket with both on it, and I think Huckabee stands a much better chance than McCain.

Unless I'm in a discussion with Mitt Romney, that's not an
ad hominem attack. It IS a political critique of a politician well deserving of criticism.
Why is that so hard for people to understand?

But given all the people on FR who are jumping on the "ha ha, poor li'l rich boy couldn't buy the nomination" bandwagon, I can see where the anti-capitalist McCain's support on here comes from.Which is pretty funny considering how enormously rich McCain is and how little he did to get it.
Marxist class envy has sunk itself deeply into the American psyche.

I am not looking back, just forward. It ain't pretty. This experiment in freedom is likely over. The fall has started, probably started a few years ago As to that, there are a lot of scary trends in the world today. But things have looked bleak before.

I wasn't a huge Romney fan, by any means, but the fact that he is rich certainly was NOT a reason why I didn't like him very much. He was financial successful? Good on him, we need more of that.
And I agree back. We are mutually agreeable. :-)
