"The Romney has ‘time to read the Golden Tablets’ crack."

Yeah, that was a pretty good one.

ROMNEY DEFEATED

Mission Accomplished!

While we weren't able to nominate a conservative, I take what satisfaction I can from helping expose and defeat this snake in the grass, the lying stealth liberal Willard Mitt Romney.

Writing in candidates or voting third party won't stop amnesty and save the Republican party. Voting for McCain won't save us. Only fighting amnesty and all the rest of the RINO agenda directly can save us now.

Well said. We must fight their agenda with our last breath.

The only thing that most Freeper friends can’t agree with Ron Paul on is his approach to foriegn policy. Please consider the fears or questions you have surrounding his noninterventionist (constitutional) stance. Are you going to allow your fear of a forign enemy be the tool to allow McCain to be shoved down your throat? He would be so bad for this country domestically - I hate the thought of it. If we fail domestically McCain’s foriegn policy will crumble and we’ll be way worse off on both fronts. We can work with Ron Paul. He will honestly work with the American people and Republicans to achieve our desired goals. He will not feed us BS while screwing us behind our backs. You know it. Don’t fear it. He can begin to right this ship we’re on so that we can maintain our strength into the future. We can re-assess policies again then, in the future, when we’re on more stable ground.

Hurrah! Now we can put our feet up, have some popcorn and watch the Obama/Hillary celebrity death match. By the end Bill will be wearing a white sheet and carrying a torch.

For the LOVE OF GOD, someone check on poor Hugh’s mental status.

For the love of God pull you head our of your ass and try actually listening to him one time. He said all along he would support the Republican Nominee. But like the rest of us, he knows McCain has NO chance of wining in Nov.

“THE GOP nees to feel the wrath....by nor voting Prez in the election.

McCain campaign says if we don’t vote for him we’re suicide voters....terrorists.

F*&% HIM.”

...and if we do vote for him, the republican party will be committing suicide. Maybe that’s a good thing.

I am devastated. I don’t know what to do. I was never a Romney supporter, but he was certainly a far sight better than the ridiculous and embarrassing Huckabee that is unelectible for dog catcher or MCSHAME? It doesn’t bear thinking...

We have no candidate. I cannot vote for either of those two.

Hillary or Obama? It’s just unbelievable to me the situation conservatives now find themselves.

What is going to happen to this country?

It’s true. Romney just finished his talk at CPAC. He’s suspending his candidacy. Go Mitt in 2012.

Damn. I was a Fred guy originally, but I was going to vote for Mitt in the Texas primary. Wasn't a fraction as enthusiastic about it as I would have been for my first choice, but I loathe McCain and Huckabee and neither will get my vote. Damn. The primary is on my birthday. What a crappy gift.

The GOP has put the last nail in the coffin for this election by choosing McCain. There's no way he'll win; he's too far gone to reclaim a huge chunk of the base no matter what. I'd be interested in the idea of people actually denying him any support for his campaign for the general and instead spending that money and time to elect and retain conservatives in the Senate and House. Try to help a lot of critical votes from getting sucked down with him as he sinks. Seems like a much better ROI.

(Oh, and I'm usually the optimist that will tell you "anything is possible if you really go for it." But I just don't see any way McCain wins the general, and even if he somehow does, it's not really a win anyways. Damn.)

Today we saw someone who loved his country more than himself. Now we will see two men who love themselves battle it out.

I voted for Duncan.

I now regret that vote.

Duncan and Fred’s campaigns were DOA, just like Paul’s and even Huck’s.

The only one who had any chance, the only one who could have become a true conservative statesman, was Romney.

Laugh all you want at that, but it’s true.

I’ve been watching Romney develop. Yes, he had his conservative “epiphany” too late to make it believable. But Mitt is a man of integrity, self-respect and CLASS.

These are qualities NONE of the remaining candidates have. And when I look back at it, Hunter does not have the class that Romney has. He just doesn’t.

I believe with all my heart that this nation has missed out on an opportunity to have a GREAT president.

One who doesn’t use the names of God as invective punctuation. One who does not sink to the gutter of machine politics. One who has built succsessful businesses and has a whole family with wife and children who love and respect him.

What a shame.

What a crying shame.

I only hope there’s a United States of America here in 2012 and that Mitt has the resolve to try again.
