Ideas & Agenda for the GOP Party Today
All four remaining GOP presidential candidates attend the 2008 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). Sen. John McCain (AZ), Rep. Ron Paul (TX), and Fmr. Gov. Mitt Romney (MA) address and seek conservative support at nation's largest annual gathering. Fmr. Gov. Mike Huckabee (AR) speaks at CPAC on Saturday
I’m glad, at least we got a chance to vote for him in our states.
Our friends in states with upcoming primaries won’t be able to do so, unless as a protest.
Rush noted the confusion by saying that there may be a way under GOP rules that Mitt can hold on to his delegates in some states if he stays in a "suspension" mode.
Now, Rush is saying Mitt is out.
Anyone have a definitive take on this....and I mean "definitive" and sourced. No wild guesses, LOL.

I agree 110%. I think it has to do with the weight of the race being off their shoulders maybe? Today, with his speech, Romney did something he'd never been able to do before...cause me to want to vote for him!
It is all just so darn frustrating.
You need to go re-read my posts. I never have attacked Christians. My Christain faith is the most important part of my life and my relationship with God has nothing to do with typing on a foreum. We will just have to agree to disagree. I was taught by my parents ... yes, that is what parents do. I was saved by the grace of God, and that is something I would never take lightly. If my posts offened you I am sorry and would ask for you to re-read my posts.
More likely Tim Pawlenty.
If he chooses Crist in Florida, conservatives would be further repulsed.
Time to move on.
Your right, but what about he try for Kennedy’s seat again. He certainly has name recognition now and could win it this time.
Coming to work this morning, ABC radio news had a story about the SS and DC police blocking intersections and using sirens for a Cheney motorcade ... that was taking his dog to the vet. No comment from the broadcaster (the story enough was the comment). What wasn't stated was whether Cheney was in the car or just the dog and handler. If it was the former, no matter the reason, as V.P. he should have appropriate security and protection when on the road for whatever reason. If the latter, it would be an abuse, IMO. So of course we don't have the entire story here; just a snide insinuation.
I.E., Cindy's drug use, his POW internment, his 1st wife, his temper, the POW/MIA issue, Keating Five, and SO much more.
I still believe SOMEthing may happen to change this script, with God's mercy and unforeseen miracles. There's just too much time left, and too many impactful events can happen that change the whole dynamic.
But until then: get really familiar with these faces, the cackle, the lies, Marxism, weakening of our intelligence agencies and profoundly increased insecurity, the increased potential of deadly terrorist attacks, Fairness Doctrine, IRS audits on enemies, BillyJeff's wanderings off the reservation and getting caught- repeatedly, the loss of your money and rights, national embarrassment for your country and national pride.
So, these could likely be the faces of American leadership on Jan. 20, 2009.
And, if it's Obama as our next president, which is very possible: just imagine him as CIC in the War on Terror. And he'll be getting all the same dirt out on McCain from all the former Clintonistas now working with him. He's much more liberal and much less experienced in the ways of government and global geopolitics than her. That may not be so bad.
In the meantime, I'll keep praying that my hunches are correct and for God's mercy and protection on US, if they're not. I know this: He is in charge.
I agree Romney “Should” be the VP, but if not it should really be a very solid conservative.
I’ve been thinking alot lately about my many comments to friends and family about “I don’t vote for liberals” so I won’t be voting for McPain.. However, if Obama gets the nod, I’m starting to think that is waaaaay to dangerous to let happen.. Hilde we could probably survive for 4 years - i’m not so certain about Barack.
OK I’m gonna screw you with your own words ... you asked How many people would drop out for the country while at war?
John McCain on backing the surge when it was not Politically expedient to do so....
“I’d rather lose an election then lose the war in Iraq”
Repulsing conservatives seems to be his favorite activity.
"Since you now have McCain, Id say it failed."
You nailed it, brother. As far as I'm concerned, these people gave us McCain as sure as if they pulled the lever for him...and I won't forget it.
With Romney out of the race I’m afraid McCain is going to gloat the entire time he gives his speech today.
No Rush didn't endorse Romney. He didn't endorse Fred before that. He said he wouldn't endorse any candidate.
BUT he did everthing he could to stop the mcInsane Express and I salute him for that. Hannity too.
Thank you, dawn.
As an MSer, I share a lot with Ann. I wish I had her number so we could commiserate. She is very positive and I try to be as well. Gotta stay away from the pity parties!
I agree about Obama, especially with expanded Democratic majorities in the House and Senate.
Speculation increasing for William Bennett as VP. Problem is, never held elective office and the gambling problem. Plus lacks the killer instinct.
excellent post!
Do you have a link for a copy of Mitt’s speech?
