To Answer Rush Limbaugh’s Question on What We Got for 8 Years of Bush
02/06/2008 | Chuck Ness

Posted on 02/06/2008 10:28:46 AM PST by OneVike

That is such an easy question to answer, I almost feel like it's stupid. What we got for our votes in 2000 is just the most conservative Supreme Court in mine and many people’s lifetime! That adds up to 50 years of influence. I call that a BIG THING!

Does anyone really have a problem with that?

So we stay home this November, and the super majority Senate puts in three super liberals on the court. Lets not give them the chance. I for one pissed off conservative evangelical will NOT do another Perot!

But one thing I am comforted in other than God is in control. (another reason I mentioned discernment and the use of our gray matter He gave us to use) is not one of the remaining candidates, gets up in the morning thinking I’m one step closer to destroying the USA.

I'm not so sure about that myself.

Whether they think it in those exact words or not may be up for debate but I can almost guarantee that John McCain wakes up thinking, "I'm one step closer to opening the borders to ANYONE that wants to come in.", including any Islamofacist that decides it's time to become a human bomb in the USA.

For Mitt Romney it might be, "I'm one step closer to having governmental health care be the norm and have the government with the power to deny health care to those that don't use it judiciously."

For Mike Huckabee it might be, "I'm one step closer to being where G*d wants me to be so I can stop all those naaaasty behaviours some people want to engage in."

All of those things typically would destroy our country.
So, I'm not so sure.

“What ever happened to the Grand Old Party?
Well son, John McCain happened.”

As I see it, George Bush 41 happened. That genius pledged to continue the Reagan policies and then threw them out the window after the election. Reagan proved conservatism worked, 41 abandoned it to be a squishy moderate. That gave us the evil duo for 8 years. Then the GOP sold us Bush jr. Another RINO posing as a conservative. He has given no guidence to the party, spent like a drunken RAT, and failed to groom a successor. Like his daddy, he makes nice with RATS, gives their ideas credibility and has helped bring the STAIN back from impeached disgrace to respected ex-president. Bush 1 gave us KKKlinton 1, Bush 2 will give us KKKlinton 2.

The two aren’t very far apart in politics.

That's part of the conservative's problem.
It's not something to make a conservative feel better.

When Bush ran in 2000 he made a big point that he had worked with both parties to got things done. Texas had a RAT legislature during his term as governor.

That being said, he has been a big disappointment on the domestic front. When he tried to arrogantly and stubbornly push through amnesty, that lost it for me. I also believe he was working within the GOP establishment to defeat Romney.

This race was all about open borders and we will get them come hell and or high water.

That's it?

Does SCOTUS write the laws that affect daily life? Do they have the power to raise taxes? Do they have the ability to enforce our borders? Do they have the capability of enacting laws or reducing the burden of govt. on all of us?

Bush has been an outright disaster on the U.S. He has done nothing from the bully pulpit of the presidency to encourage the American electorate to even CONSIDER conservatism. A dismal failure as the "leader" of the republican party.

The Department of Homeland Security

More bloated and unnecessary government.

What was NO ONE "SECURING THE HOMELAND" prior to this?

Rather than hold the people who should have been "securing the homeland" responsible, Bush created a whole new department.

We will live to regret this.

McCain won’t be any different, and if you think so, you’re living the lie.

He’ll put moderates or mod libs on the court, and the end results will be the same.

And if you don’t think he will, McCain’s general campaign guy Warren Rudman was the guy who recommended Souter to Bush I as a conservative. Look how friggin’ great that turned out.

Even Dole said they (the repubs) were LIED TO about that one.

Well, son, Juan McCain happened.

We conservatives pooled our money and put out ads against him and ended up in jail because of Juan McCain’s favorite feel good CFR legislation made such ads illegal.

Our favorite conservative radio shows went off the air because Juan McCain instituted the Fairness Doctrine, further destroying free speech.

...now you goose step off to education camp, son, and don’t forget 1 and 1 is 3.

We also got 7 years without being attacked. None of our embassies in the world were even attacked. Cant say that under Clinton. Also a little known fact. More soldiers died under Clinton that under Bush during wartime. Pretty interesting fact there alone. For all his faults ...credit should be given were credit is due. Exactly....good post

Guys, don’t forget we (conservatives)raised our voice over Harriet Myers and got that fixed...we raised hell over McCain Kennedy and stopped that. Keep fighting. I know it is discouraging after yesterday (and I’m very bummed over McCain being our nominee), but continue the fight - it’s worth it.

The Gang of 14 rings a bell indeed. If it had not been for them, the GOP Senate Majority Leader would have changed the rules to allow a simple majority vote for cloture.

You forgot three words. "on judicial nominations"

Without Bush there would be Sharia Law in the United States and if a Democrat is elected this fall it will not be long before the al-Qaeda supporters in the US Senate surrender our great nation to the Islamic Terrorist.

Oh brother, enough with the hyperbole.

Our country is not in any danger of going under Sharia law. Our country is not in mortal danger from a bunch of goat . . . herders . . . stuck in the 11th century.

Intrusive, abusive, and corrupt government is a greater threat to us than some whackjobs in the Middle East.
