The National Geographic Channel (NGC) will begin airing on February 10 a new environmental show titled Six Degrees. NGC in a statement on the man who inspired the show says, "In possibly the most graphic treatment of global warming yet published, noted science writer and 2006 National Geographic Emerging Explorer Mark Lynas explains in his latest book, Six Degrees: Our Future on a Hotter Planet, how Earths climate will be impacted with every degree of increase in temperatureand what we need to do about it, now, to avert disaster." If Katrina bothered you not just because of the environmental issues but also the failed government response, then Six Degrees is a show you should watch.

Wouldnât 6 degrees warmer bring us back to the temperatures of the medieval warm period which was one of the best times climatically of the past 1000 or so years?

Global warming is wonderful! Without it, most of North America would be under a couple miles of ice. It is a returning ice age, mini or otherwise, that is to be feared.

Anyone remember when the National Geographic was about the people, places, flora and fauna of this world instead of being Mother Jones?
