Non-southerners won 65% of the vote in GA and 60% of the vote in TN. Romney got 47% of the vote in WV. McCain won OK.
Huck eked small wins in states where he had regional appeal.

Your comment is fluff, a few thousand more votes for Romney and he’d have won Georgia.

Elect a Conservative (God and Guns) or lose the South.

Well, I suppose Hillary is more conservative than Obama. You'll get your wish.

“And they thought Huckabee was just kidding when he suggested that Romney should be the one stepping aside.”

It is still a joke of a comment since Romney will have more votes and more delegates out of this so far than Huckabee.

Huck did his McCain’s poodle thing, and is no longer needed. McCain is the nominee. End of story.

Put down the crack pipe and sober up.

Hey, it is red zinfandel, mmmm, not crack, and I will not put it down. :o)

Huck stopped ROmney and gave the nomination to mccain, end of story.

The story continues. The story is that Romney beat Romney, no one else. He wasn't a good enough candidate. He couldn't beat the liberal McCain, and he couldn't beat the conservative Huckabee where Huckabee was able to make his presence known. Watch for Huckabee to continue to roll up victories in Louisiana and Texas. His success this evening will propel his candidacy forward. It may be too little, too late, to stop McCain, but to blame Huckabee for Romney's shortcomings is absurd. Romney is a flawed candidate, and no amount of money or pundit propaganda will overcome that fact.

Mitt Romney graduated TOP OF THE HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL AND LAW SCHOOL class, he had a superb resume and background of accomplishments ... it didnt count for much, I guess.

The House and Senate are going to see huge losses.

Not if we go out of our way to fight for and support the House and Senate candidates this year.

I'm not going to be spending any money on the Presidential race now, but I am going to take a serious look at the Senators and see who could use some help.

We can't afford to get our up and comers wiped out. We have to fight to keep the best of them.

You’re afraid mccain might actually win.

No we actually wish McCain would win. It would be fun to gloat when your god pushes the Democrat Lite agenda just like we have been warning you all along. Be fun tormenting the McCainiacs to explain why their god is doing exactly what we warned them he would do.

But we know McCain cannot win. That was the whole point. We actually care about our political agenda and want it advanced. We are not mindless Party Uber Alles types who treat this as if it were a sport. Cheering on their team no matter how bad they are. We do not watch polls to decide who to support the way you McCainiac do. Given the Democrats structural advantage in organization, turn out and money who had a better chance of winning.

Whole Country is in a foul mood. They hate the Political class with a passion. Everyone from the President to the least member of Congress has record low sustained political approval numbers.

The GOP, because they hold the WH, is seen as the party in power.

Given the country's furious Anti DC mood who has a better chance of winning against Clinton Inc?

A tired broke old 25 year member of the DC Establishment who is running on a Leftist agenda with a long politically corrupt history who virtually no one in the Conservative Movement likes or trusts who's stated political agenda is to be Democrat Lite

or

an articulate successful business man and former Gov with a $250 million war chest who at least is running on a solidly Conservative agenda who can credibly run a Reagan style "we got to go clean up DC" campaign?

9 months ago according to all the National Polls the only person who could beat Clinton Inc was Rudy G. Where is he now?

That is where you, the GOP and McCain will be in Nov 2008. The GOP will be lucky to win 10 states. You are going to get massacred down ticket. The Democrats are fired up. They are going to have huge turnout since it will be the 1st chance in 15 years for them to control the whole Govt. They are like we were in 2000. Ground glass Democrats.

The Mods-Indys are NOT going to vote for McCain's style of Democrat lite politics. The are in a foul anti Establishment mood and McCain is as Establishment as they get. A career old WASP politic an. The Mods/Indys are going to vote for the the Democrat real deal over the Democrat Lite GOP brand.

The Conservative/Republican will not be energized and so many will not show up, certainly will not volunteer their time and money to campaign. McCain's GOTV will be a sad joke. After all, what the difference between one tax hiking big Govt authoritarian Liberal or the other. Either way Conservatives get nothing

You are going to get a 1980s style butt kicking in Nov. Only this time the Anti Reagan Democrats will be one winning the landslide.

That is the main base of Romney support - CONSERVATIVES.

As much as I can't stand Romney, I can't deny that he has conservative support. I can't understand it, but I can't deny it either. I think that if you can admit that the main base of Huckabee supporters are also CONSERVATIVES, we can work together towards the issues and not the personalities in the future.

No I don’t think the Republic can survive this. We aren’t of the same fiber that we were in previous situations. We dont’t have the same character. I can’t think of a time in my lifetime (52) that I’ve been this this depressed. We have reached a point of terminal stupidity. That is we cannot even make course corrections when we have made mistakes. We are too stupid to even realize the results of our mistakes. We make them over and over. Look the the idiots in Arizona. They elected McCain time and time again. This despite the stupidity of the things he was doing. I’d like to slap those McCain voters upside their faces but what good what that do. They are too stupid to even realize what they have done. We are so screwed!

the south will slip into further irrelevance as dem voters sign up year after year and take over once the border floodgates are opened. The republican party will stop pandering to the god and guns crowd when they need to(they already think they’re troublemakers). The republicans and dems will permantly take over with an increasing liberal to moderate agenda year after year. A third party will emerge but their numbers will be too small to do anything. the pro-life crowd and one issue voters need the republican party to stay relevant, they don’t need you. the party will morph into whatever it needs to just to survive.
this is my prediction because the writing is on the wall.

Romney creeps people out, if he didn’t have the money to mask over some of that, he would have been gone long ago.

Huck did his McCain’s poodle thing, and is no longer needed.

And won't Huck be surprised when McCain tosses him overboard and picks Guiliani as his running mate!

C'mon, Jim. You have to admit Guiliani stands a better chance of being the Republican VP choice than Huck. At least his kids don't torture animals for kicks.
