Think Ron Paul voters will vote as a block for Huckabee, propelling him into first place?

Since McCain brags about being in on the surge from the beginning I wouldn't think that goes over well with Paul supporters.

Keep in mind most Paul supporters are against the Iraq war-while all the other candidates support the war, its been McCains #1 issue and the paul-bots are not likely to go that way.

I am basing it on McCain having poor numbers. That doesn’t ring true for any other state.

“It would be hilarious if McCain’s stalking horse Huckabee ends up being McCain’s undoing.”

It sure would be hilarious all right, because it would make a mockery of the entire concept. This “stalking horse” talk has all been manufactured from the beginning.

In any case, it’s down to three (McCain, Romney and Huckabee) and only Huckabee and Romney showed up to speak at the caucus. McCain will be dropped on the second vote. The third (and last) vote will tell us a bit about whether Huckabee or Romney made the best personal impression.

If it’s Huckabee, this will be reported well before polls close in other states and it will be a surprise as well. It could help Huckabee, given the dismissive way he’s been treated by the press and political commentators lately. It’s like he doesn’t exist, but he’s polling strong in several states again.

Huckabee’s first task was to take down moneybags Romney and he’s using McCain to help him do it. If Romney is lagging seriously after today, he might consider withdrawing (spending your own money is painful when you’re getting no satisfaction from it.)

If he does, Huckabee’s next job is to take down McCain, which might be much easier than it would appear. The “loose cannon” talk is going to increase dramatically and Republicans are going to begin to get very nervous about their assumption that he’s the candidate that can beat Hillary/Obama, as they should. The MSM has been waiting patiently, giving McCain a free pass so far. That will end the day after he’s nominated.

The final results will probably come after the RUSH. NO WAY in heck are they going to announce the winner during El Rushbo show!

If McLettuce and Huck and Paul gang up on Mitt, there will still be Mitt’s winning the initial vote to explain.

That's laughable now. His followers can only deny Romney W. Virginia.

Your post sounds like one from a person seriously in denial of what is happening at the polls. Huck can’t win in any of the biggest states. He is BARELY making it in states that he should be sweeping.

You know all the people on FR hoping for a brokered convention?

Well, we got one going on right now in WV.

“It would be HUGH if the MSM had to announce a Romney win in West Virginia before the polls close elsewhere.”

Actually, I don’t think it would be. Most of the voting has already taken place (I think) on the East Coast. It might help a bit in California, but McCain will almost certainly be announced the winner of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut very quickly while voting is still going on in California.

No, I don’t. That’s why I said it sounds like as opposed to “this is the way it is.”

No, I for one do not think Paulites will move to Suckabee. Why? Because he’s slimy and because of their Evangelical side. I think a lot of Paulites are non-religious as many of them are disgruntled leftists who like Paul’s anti-war position. Others are Independents who switched back to vote in the caucus (as we had to do here in CA in order to vote Repub).

People think a brokered convention will bring in some white knight to save the day. Most likely it just brings in some back room deals that most will not like.

Well, we don’t even start to caucus in Minnesota until 7:00 pm central.
