“It would be hilarious if McCain’s stalking horse Huckabee ends up being McCain’s undoing.”

It sure would be hilarious all right, because it would make a mockery of the entire concept. This “stalking horse” talk has all been manufactured from the beginning.

In any case, it’s down to three (McCain, Romney and Huckabee) and only Huckabee and Romney showed up to speak at the caucus. McCain will be dropped on the second vote. The third (and last) vote will tell us a bit about whether Huckabee or Romney made the best personal impression.

If it’s Huckabee, this will be reported well before polls close in other states and it will be a surprise as well. It could help Huckabee, given the dismissive way he’s been treated by the press and political commentators lately. It’s like he doesn’t exist, but he’s polling strong in several states again.

Huckabee’s first task was to take down moneybags Romney and he’s using McCain to help him do it. If Romney is lagging seriously after today, he might consider withdrawing (spending your own money is painful when you’re getting no satisfaction from it.)

If he does, Huckabee’s next job is to take down McCain, which might be much easier than it would appear. The “loose cannon” talk is going to increase dramatically and Republicans are going to begin to get very nervous about their assumption that he’s the candidate that can beat Hillary/Obama, as they should. The MSM has been waiting patiently, giving McCain a free pass so far. That will end the day after he’s nominated.

Your post sounds like one from a person seriously in denial of what is happening at the polls. Huck can’t win in any of the biggest states. He is BARELY making it in states that he should be sweeping.
