Reagan Library Republican Presidential Debate: January 30, 2008
SIMI VALLEY, California (CNN) -- Republican presidential hopefuls will face off Wednesday night without a familiar face as ex-New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is expected to drop out and endorse front-runner Sen. John McCain.
The remaining candidates will take the stage in a debate -- sponsored by CNN, the Los Angeles Times and Politico -- beginning at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday.
The event at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, follows McCain's Tuesday night win in the Florida primary.
McCain topped former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney 36 percent to 31 percent in the hotly contested race.
Giuliani placed third with 15 percent of the vote, followed closely by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee with 14 percent, and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas was fifth with 3 percent.
Giuliani is expected to end his White House bid and endorse McCain at a campaign event in California later Wednesday, Republican Party sources said.
Minus Giuliani, the debate will be a four-candidate affair -- McCain, Romney, Huckabee and Paul -- with CNN's Anderson Cooper moderating.

The way you fought agains illegal immigration, so faithfully, I can’t believe that you are liking this lying phony, McCain.
Truly pathetic questions from CNN.

“Uh... I know how to lead.... I know how to lead.... I led people 50 years ago.... ZZZZZZZZ”.
My God, McCain answers a question about the economy by going back to timetables, and talking about being a POW.
That dumb ass will not let the timetalbles lie go! What an idiot!!
You are simply not paying serious attention to this debate.
Alright! I'm worried that the many veterans in Southern CA will go for McCain. Do you have any guess as to how they'll vote?
Footsoldier again
McCain believes his military experience qualifies him to run our economy and he doesn’t need business experience. Keep it up McCain, please.
He’s starting to sound like Kerry...reminding everybody of his “service.”
AGREED....Huckleberry is just trying to take the heat off McBlame....Of course he drops out next week after the damage is done.
McCain: “I led the biggest squadron. I did it for patriotism not for profit.”
What a jerk and let’s hope Romney punches back. God McCain is showing his age and idiocy.
McCain is a fine man ...........But A LIAR!!!
Uh-oh ... “footsoldier” is coming..
