Can a picture be worth a thousand tears? Behold Chris Matthews in the depths of despair, reacting to Joe Scarborough's suggestion that Obama the dreamer has lost to Hillary the machine candidate.
Schmoozing with Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski on today's Morning Joe, Matthews had analogized Obama to Mozart the genius while casting Hillary in the role of the workmanlike but uninspired Salieri.

He wasn’t the only one shedding tears. I am sure Roger Ailes shed a few after Jullie Annie’s showing in Florida yesterday.

Yes, particularly considering that Matthews has publicly acknowledged having a drinking problem in his past, and just a few nights ago mentioned that he hadn’t had a drink in many [I can’t remember the precise number] years.

If race is between McCain and Obama you won’t have to vote of a 3rd party, McCain will have zero chance of winning. Why? because as Obama rallies his supporters into a frenzy of emotion, with hope for a better future, McCain sounds and looks like an undertaker. He is a boring speaker no charisma, a looser for sure.

The pics of Obama refusing to cover his heart during the POA, or the explanation of why he won’t wear a flag pin, or one of the many other anti-patriotic stunts of his might stir up a little bit of frenzy themselves. Much more to come, I’m sure. Kind of puts all that “hope for a better future” of his in perspective.

CHris Matthews is SUCH a metrosexual. He was at the verge of tears over Gore’s concession speech in ‘00; he claims listening to an Obama speech brings ‘everyone’ in the room to tears; the prospect of Obama’s dream being upended by the Grifters brings him to tears ... YUCK.

Exactly. If this is the match, we better get ready to say President Obama.

Great catch, Mark, and thanks for suffering thru pMSNBC (aka DNC TV) in order to report this gem to us. I'm still nauseous over this Chris Matthews statement after the Kennedys endorsed Obama:
"To you young people there, you want to know what the early sixties were like, you just saw it, it was magic, and I think it's real, and I think that it's not partisan, it's not political. It's just a fact that Teddy was able to bring back that today."
