It Boils Down To California On Super Tuesday (Stopping McCain)
1/30/08 | Self

Posted on 01/30/2008 5:05:17 AM PST by Nextrush

I'm angry about how things are going, I won't mince my words.

To watch the Establishment shove McCain into us disgusts me.

Lets look at how to win next Tuesday with tactical voting for Romney in key states with Huck being the only option down South.

For starters, Romney is a winner in Massachusetts. He's ahead 20 points in last week's polling, at least. I expect a win for Mitt in Utah, plus polling shows a big Romney lead in Colorado for the caucuses there next Tuesday.

Romney has three states in his bag.

Now he has to get some others. I hope Illinois is one of them, plus Missouri. Missouri is 58 WINNER TAKE ALL DELEGATES.

I think the South is a lost cause with Huck in there now getting organized pro-life support. The state affiliates of National Right To Life want pro-life voters parked with Huck next Tuesday for whatever reason.

That will firmly prevent any Romney chance in those states which either Huckabee or McCain will win.

Down south West Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas and Oklahoma, its a vote for Huckabee to beat McCain in those states.

I expect McCain to win some of them unfortunately.

Now out west Montana looks like a state for Romney to try for.

In the East McCain will sweep New York (101 WINNER TAKE ALL DELEGATES), New Jersey and I'm certain of Connecticut.

Delaware is also a McCain win, along with Arizona, although Mitt will get a substantial vote there from his fellow Mormons.

Alaska is a wild card. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ron Paul do well there. Maybe the vote will mix there to a Huck win.

Minnesota is voting as well and I don't know what to expect there. Maybe Mitt could do something there or in North Dakota. But I suspect McCain wins in both.

That brings us to the big prize. California. 173 delegates.

This is the one state that would give Mitt any bragging rights next Tuesday and so he must win there.

It will take an all out conservative effort with amnesty being a key issue.

Take the gloves off and pound McCain. Hold him to Kennedy-McCain, McCain-Kennedy, etc.

Is Tom McClintock in on Mitt's side?

Right now Ahnold is uncommitted. He may be held back to endorse McCain at the last minute for what its worth.

California is the key to Romney's survival and viability.

If he loses there McCain will have it for sure.

Henry Kissinger, Tom Ridge, Mel Martinez all spell ESTABLISHMENT.

And that’s just for starters.

“Bob Beckel (Democratic strategist) said on Fox and Friends that he predicts McCain will pick Romney as his running mate.”

He actually said “I guarantee it”

McCain is poison to the conservative cause. He’s about to set off a stampede of Right flight.

Define establishment...

The usual liberal elite schools (Harvard, Yale)?
The super rich?
The world bankers?
The American dynasties?
The Moral Majority?

All of the above are Romney ties and not McCain ties...explain that oh sour grapes one.

If McCain is the candidate. I am seriously contemplating voting for dems, that is my strategic plan. No difference between the two candidates. Let the rats take the blame for the next 4 year disaster.

He’s won them all and it hasn’t gotten him the big states or the south! McCain has looked like an idiot in the debates. I don’t think folks are watching. Most Americans spend 10 minutes listening to the MSM and think they are informed.

“To watch the Establishment shove McCain into us disgusts me.”

To exactly which establishment do you refer? That line sounds really out there, to be perfectly honest. Do you mean the Rockefeller Republican rainmakers who have overwhelmingly supported Romney financially? ...or is it the water-carrying Republican talk show hosts who have fought McCain tooth and nail while supporting a candidate who only a few weeks ago promised double the government stimulus of Bush, a bail-out of detroit, quazi-governmental healthcare, and has a track record of being pro-gay, anti-gun, pro-abortion - and raised taxes in MA? Perhaps it is the crony Republican leaders who squandered the majority in Congress and disgraced our party with lobbyist corruption, like Delay, who has fought against McCain?

Say what you want about McCain’s credentials - heaven knows I wish there was a more conservative candidate in the race, but swallowing the anti-establishment lines that Romney co-opted from Obama after his losses in Iowa and New Hampshire just taints everything you say.

Sadly, you may be right...
What else can they do?
The Romneys are a very attractive family, maybe they just need more photo ops! ; )

“McCain will be nothing more than the second coming of Bob Dole”

I’d rather try with the Dole II than John Kerry II.

The CFR is a think tank...many many are part of it. Where you are leading to is the NWO people who meet in the woods out of the media eye. My guess is that McCain never got that invite because he doesn't have the right "label". He still likes to be called an American.

“The only chance Romney has now is for Huckabee to get out of the race. Recent polls show that if Huckabee was not in most of his supporters would switch to Romney. However, I believe a deal has been struck for Huckabee to remain in the race in return for the VP slot with McCain.”

Absolutely. And Huckabee has delegates. I sure hope you’re wrong about a deal having already been struck with McCain. I was hoping that it would be Romney who would convince Huckabee to pull out of the race in exchange for a VP slot.

Well, I think there’s a good chance that whoever McCain’s running mate is, will get to step in as President when the old geezer kicks the bucket. Let’s face it, McCain is the same age as my mother (God bless her) - and I can see how much of her mental capabilities are declining almost every time I see her. He can only go downhill from here!

I would actually feel better if his VP pick were someone like Romney - who I think would be an able administrator. Unfortunately, I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think he’s going to pick either Huckabee or Giuliani. Did you notice the last month about Giuliani? It’s like when George H. Bush was running against Bill Clinton - there was a very definite point where he just visibly stopped trying to win? Giuliani just visibly stopped trying to win about a month ago himself, it happened right at the time he went to the hospital in Iowa.

Rudy became the stalking horse, along with Huckabee. The powers that be have taken control & the fix is in. The American people are not in control anymore.

Oh, yeah - and I think Rudy decided to drop out now so he can keep whatever money he has left in his war chest - that’s the way greedy SOB’s like himself operate.

You overlooked Texas. We vote March 4. Pray that McCain gets trounced here. He is grotesque.

BTW - ever read studies showing how US Senators rarely do well in Presidential elections? Of the major candidates, only Romney and Huckster are NOT Senators.

Nelson Rockefeller’s foreign policy advisor and friend, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, is a John McCain supporter. So is the man who was Kissinger’s understudy and a Secretary of State himself, Alexander Haig.

“I am disgusted with how the people in power get the advantages. It should not be like that. Super delegates and other nonsense have got to go. “

One has to work his way up in politics, and I don’t think that is necessarily un-American. Hard work, a rung at a time, is a good virtue.

We had a businessman in Georgia who tried to buy his way into the governership, and later the U.S Senate. Guy Milner lost by a hair in both races after spending millions.

Regardless, I am voting Romney on Tuesday. He is a breath of fresh air and I admire him greatly. Unlike Guy Milner, Romney has a spirit of wanting to serve. Maybe it’s the Mormon thing.

Romney is a relative of Bush and was backed by the Jeb Bush machine in Floria (and Daddy Bush). Although I am an stance W supporter, his father has exstensive ties with the NWO class.

There are some mavericks in the "group". Bush was one of them and so is McCain.

Then you have the yes men...like Rombot.
