It Boils Down To California On Super Tuesday (Stopping McCain)
1/30/08 | Self

I'm angry about how things are going, I won't mince my words.

To watch the Establishment shove McCain into us disgusts me.

Lets look at how to win next Tuesday with tactical voting for Romney in key states with Huck being the only option down South.

For starters, Romney is a winner in Massachusetts. He's ahead 20 points in last week's polling, at least. I expect a win for Mitt in Utah, plus polling shows a big Romney lead in Colorado for the caucuses there next Tuesday.

Romney has three states in his bag.

Now he has to get some others. I hope Illinois is one of them, plus Missouri. Missouri is 58 WINNER TAKE ALL DELEGATES.

I think the South is a lost cause with Huck in there now getting organized pro-life support. The state affiliates of National Right To Life want pro-life voters parked with Huck next Tuesday for whatever reason.

That will firmly prevent any Romney chance in those states which either Huckabee or McCain will win.

Down south West Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas and Oklahoma, its a vote for Huckabee to beat McCain in those states.

I expect McCain to win some of them unfortunately.

Now out west Montana looks like a state for Romney to try for.

In the East McCain will sweep New York (101 WINNER TAKE ALL DELEGATES), New Jersey and I'm certain of Connecticut.

Delaware is also a McCain win, along with Arizona, although Mitt will get a substantial vote there from his fellow Mormons.

Alaska is a wild card. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ron Paul do well there. Maybe the vote will mix there to a Huck win.

Minnesota is voting as well and I don't know what to expect there. Maybe Mitt could do something there or in North Dakota. But I suspect McCain wins in both.

That brings us to the big prize. California. 173 delegates.

This is the one state that would give Mitt any bragging rights next Tuesday and so he must win there.

It will take an all out conservative effort with amnesty being a key issue.

Take the gloves off and pound McCain. Hold him to Kennedy-McCain, McCain-Kennedy, etc.

Is Tom McClintock in on Mitt's side?

Right now Ahnold is uncommitted. He may be held back to endorse McCain at the last minute for what its worth.

California is the key to Romney's survival and viability.

If he loses there McCain will have it for sure.

If the choice comes down to Hillary or McCain - Americans will have to choose between TWO utterly INSANE people!

Seriously, both of them are mentally unbalanced - how the hell did we get to this point?

I’m afraid the fix is in.

It’s time to look at a third party.

We’re so screwed.

Yes. McCain is Bob Dole II. He will lose in a landslide. The Clintons will be back in for at least four years.

Hang-on to your pocketbooks. It will be a wild ride. Hillary’s two new court appointees will make homosexualty legal, and will find them to be a protected group...can you say affirmative action?

This is the beginning of the end of America as we knew it.

I wonder if McCain is naive enough to think that he is not going to be savaged and trashed as a “right winger” and an extremist by the Dems just because he believes in “civility.” He thinks he’s going to get a pass because he tries to play nice with Ted Kennedy and the other hate figures on the left? No way.

Want to get depressed:

Imagine President Hellary.
With a veto proof majority in Congress.
And at least 3 Supreme Court judges to select.
Right now it’s a very likely scenario.

Reminder: Defeating Hellary is the Prime Directive.

It’s worth a try. Bob Beckel was on Fox and Friends and he says McCain is the nominee AND that Mitt Romney will be his running mate!?!

The only chance Romney has now is for Huckabee to get out of the race. Recent polls show that if Huckabee was not in most of his supporters would switch to Romney. However, I believe a deal has been struck for Huckabee to remain in the race in return for the VP slot with McCain.

I get a kick out of those who are running around saying McCain has the best shot at stopping Hillary or Obama. McCain will be nothing more than the second coming of Bob Dole. If he gets the nomination, we'll lose the election - period.

The GOP had better get serious and start thinking about the consequences of who gets to name who to the Supreme Court and set immigration, domestic and foreign policy for the next 4-8 years.

Put up McCain, and it's over.

Yes is is that naive. He has revenge on his mind. The 2000 election was supposed to be his. Arrogance makes you stupid as proven by John McCain. Good Luck John, enjoy your 15 minutes of support.

“Glad I won’t live to see it.”

It’s funny, that comment. My dad, a typical Maine Independent said the the same thing - he’s 62. He and I were talking just the other day and he was shaking his head and made a profound observation, “Like rebellious teenagers, the children of the ‘Greatest Generation’ are undoing everything their parents gave them through their blood at the same time becoming everything their parent fought for in Europe.”

I think it is sad. America is in for a hard time, but like anything worth fighting for, their will eventually be either a reaffirmation, or anarchy.

Want to get depressed:

So how is this different if McCain is elected? I dont see a difference. McCain will do all of this also. Let's let a Dem get credit for it.

“Remember that this is the state whose idea of a conservative is Arnold Schwarzenegger?”

Well the Market hasn’t even opened yet today and you’ve already won my “Tagline Award” for the most idiotic post of the day.

Congratulations!
Just remember one thing, genius;
Californians gave America and the world Ronald Reagan.
The finest POTUS in recent memory!

Class Dismissed!

PS You might want to change your screen name...
talk about a misnomer! LMAO

It’s an interesting analysis, but you’re not counting the momentum and money that McCain is going to garner from his win in FL, If Romney can’t win NH, SC, or FL how is he going to pull out CA, NY, NJ or even MO. Romney’s opposition to amnesty doomed him in FL among the Cubans. You think that helps him win CA?!? Let’s face it we’re screwed.

McCain win in FL = President Hillary. The sooner you accept this the sooner you can move on.
