I guess his area has something to do with it... but he has too many documented pro-abortion, anti-gun, tax-increasing positions for anything he says to ring true. It’s not like he is saying “hey, I did my best in a liberal area”. He is rather simply denying history. He strikes me as either having no strength of character or being a hideous liar.

I do think there’s a pretty good chance on the Huckabee Veep thing.
California in 2008 is not the same kind of State it was in 1964.
You've got to be kidding! Have you read your own tagline recently?
Romney is absolutely the best option to stop the illegal immigrant overrun of our country. He has actually done something about it, in Massachusetts.
What has McCain done? He's for illegals!
What has Huckabee done? *crickets chirping*
Your need to be stopped.
Exit polls are indicating that a significant number of McCain voters were not really Republicans at all.
Assuming that most of the GOP likes McCain because of the primary results would be incorrect.
California is giving out GOP delegates by congressional district this year. So to follow your strategy of stopping McCain, conservative voters would need to look at whether Huckabee or Romney has the better chance in their area and vote accordingly.
An article with more info on how the California delegate process will work this year.

The difficult part is determining who is more likely to win in your congressional district. The likelihood of good polling on that level being available to the public is virtually nil.
If you are not able to get a good sense of how your congressional district is leaning, it may make sense to make your decision on other factors.
For instance, if a candidate makes a stop in your area and it is rather out of the way, that may be an indication that internal polling is showing that candidate doing well there. Also, taking into account the areas where each candidate has done well demographically may work. If you are in an upscale or strongly Mormon area, voting for Romney would probably make the most sense strategically. If you live in an area with a strong evangelical constituency or a lot of transplanted Southerners or more blue-collar or working class or more rural with hunters and strong 2nd amendment support, then Huckabee would probably stand a better chance.
In broad terms, I would guess Huckabee is the best bet in the Central Valley and the foothills. Romney would probably be better in upscale urban enclaves. The suburbs of the big cities would vary widely based on local nuances.
California is definitely a wildcard this year.
Oh goody, it's time for recess! What? Are we in grade school?
That was one of the most juvenile comments I've ever seen on FreeRepublic.
“I dont know how any California Republican could vote for John McCain. Mitt Romney signed English-only in schools and vetoed in-state tuition for illegal immigrants. John McCain tried to push shamnesty. That alone is more than enough reason to vote Romney.”
Right! And did you hear McCain tonight? Just last week McCain said he WOULD sign the immigration bill if it came to his desk but that it won’t come to his desk because the people want the fence first. Then tonight McCain said he WOULD NOT sign the immigration bill if it came to his desk but that it won’t come to his desk because the people want the fence first! Does anyone make any sense out of that?? I do. McCain would first put the fairness doctrine in place and then sign the biggest amnesty legislation that simply FORGETS the fence! Anyone who would vote in such a way as to allow McCain anywhere near the White House is not a conservative! I pray folks see that Mitt Romney is the best choice and the most conservative candidate left who has a chance to beat McCAin. The MSM is hoping for a McCAin win to ensure Hillary is in the White House!
Three cheers to you!
Hate to disillusion you but CA will give John a rousing ok. The Guvernator and Rudy will see to it.
Only when it is too late and the media turns on him will McCrazy realize he was being used all along. I am pulling for Mitt now, but the last few years have been a disappointment and I don’t see a change in the weather coming. 06 was a disaster. Steele losing in Maryland, Ehrlich in Maryland, George Allen in Virginia, the rest of the Senate and house. Ugh.
Of course not. They will simply repeat what the Dem Machine puts out. It will be "Some people say......" The NYT article reports.... And the film clips will be priceless as John mumbles, appears confused, forgets.
I pray to God that those 20 counties and more don’t vote for McCain. I will believe that Reagan’s California still exists until they prove me wrong.
Huck will win the Southern states because of the Evangelicals. Huck will get something out of the deal but not VP I don't think. McCain will have to have a young guy with lots of economy experience, probably some big lib.
I would guess Romney would tell McCain to stuff it. Beckel is a big shill who knows nothing.
As to talk radio, they are not news people; they say what they are, and they can comment whenever they want. The TV media is not supposed to do that. My tax money pays for public TV and Jim Leher spends every day gaga over McCain and trashing or ignoring all other Republican candidates.
We don’t have to “prove” anything to you, junior.
Unless you get into the fight and move here, I suggest you mind your own business & deal with MD problems(you certainly have enough of them) and let those of us who live, vote, work & pay taxes in CA deal with CA.
Class Dismissed.
