Assuming there is no shocking revelation or health issue, the GOP nomination is over. Conservatives need to start practicing the phrase "Nominee presumptive John McCa....."
Sorry, I can't say it. Not yet.
But it's true. When the campaign comes here to Massachusetts on February 5th, I'll proudly cast my vote for any option on the GOP ballot other than You-Know-Who. But it will be a futile gesture. Mr. "1/3rd Of The GOP Primary Vote" is going to be the nominee.
He's going to win the big, left-leaning states on Tuesday. Huckabee will stay in and deny Romney a one-on-one contest for GOP voters that Captain Amnesty would almost certainly lose. The result: More wins for He Who Must Not Be Named, and fewer wins for Romneyregardless of delegate count. Florida has launched the one ship that Romney's money and Rush Limbaugh cannot stop: The U.S.S. Inevitable. It's gonna happen. Even if there were a realistic pathway to stop him, the media have seized control of the process now and are declaring him inevitable. He is, after all, the favorite son of the New York Times.
So it is over. Finished. In November, we'll be sending out our most liberal, least trustworthy candidate vs. to take on Hillary Clintonperhaps not more liberal than Barack Obama, but certainly far less trustworthy. And the worst part for the Right is that McCain will have won the nomination while ignoring, insulting and, as of this weekend, shamelessly lying about conservatives and conservatism.
You think he supported amnesty six months ago? You think he was squishy on tax cuts and judicial nominees before? Wait until he has the power to anger every conservative in America, and feel good about it.
Every day, he dreams of a world filled with happy Democrats and insulted Republicans.

AMEN
Well Pubs, there’s always The Reform Party.
Come join us.
I won’t vote for John Insane.
So you accept that no minorities will vote for the GOP...not ever, so there is no point in trying to attract them.
So we concede that vote to the Dem's. How then do you win a national election where in 2000 and 2004 the margins were so tight you could not afford to lose anything and expect to win anything. A 3% loss would shift the outcomes. If it were not for the electoral college we would have lost in one instance in 2000. That same event cannot happen today because the Dem's are systematically neutering the electoral college. A plurality vote is now needed for most scenarios.
How then do you cut any voter segment loose in todays reality and win?
The answer is that you can't.
“If Romney keeps up the good fight, He will deny McCain the delegates needed on 1st ballot. There is nothing I would enjoy than seeing a brokered convention and McCain not emerging as the eventual nominee.”
I’m afraid this is wishful thinking.
Thanks Jan. I guess you’re as frustrated as I am.
Yes they are. The "Keating 5" scandal survivor in mired in another one. Not to mention his concern about "German chancellor Putin". He's senile on top of being an ethically challenged liberal.
To get John McCain, you start out with Dole, but you have to subtract any character that the man had.
IMO John is devoid of good character these days.
Bob Dole was a tired old RINO, but John is not tired, is a RINO and has very little sense of what right and wrong are IMO.
As for electability, you’re dead on target. John will never be elected president.
“No way. Wont happen, not in a million years. If we dont see a miracle, get used to First Husband Bill Clinton.”
Fred was my guy. I’ll won’t vote for McCain in the Oklahoma primary but would vote for him in the general election if it’s him vs. Hillary or Obama.
McCain would trounce either one of them in the general election. A lot of Dimms and Independents who don’t like Hillary will crossover and vote for McCain. And at the end of the day, most conservatives will hold their nose and vote for him as well.
Unfortunately, I believe John McCain will be the next President - the man is no conservative but he is MUCH, MUCH BETTER than the Dimms corrupt candidates.
From Michelle Malkin; "At this reform institute which is in part funded with George Soros money, Juan Hernandez was in charge of leading the lobbying campaign for John McCains amnesty effort last year.
For those that don't know, Juan Hernandez is on McCain's payroll. How is it possible that WE The People, STOPPED amnesty last year, and NOW are nominating one of the major forces behind amnesty.
NOT if they are conservatives. He will destroy the conservative movement. If the GOP think conservatives will vote for a liberal Republican, then that is what we will get every election.
LOL! I’ll second that!
I am much more than frustrated. I am mad as H*** and I'm not going to take it any more!!! I have seen Colorado turn blue, because Republicans voted in "conservative" Democrats who now hold the majority in both State offices. The unions are now taking over, taxes are going up, illegals are everywhere...yes, those conservative Democrats sure were great for our State!
I don't vote for "conservative" Democrats (why would they be Dems if they are really conservative?), and I won't ever vote for a LIBERAL Republican!
It has happened before! A lot depends on how much money McCain has for the next 6 days and how much he can raise in that time. My guess is he has spent most of his money in Florida.
Sorry No! Curbing immigration and denying illegals the kneejerk vote for the Marxist free ride ticket would , Would have worked, but if you want compromise you get a pig in a dress.YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE HYPER DILLUSIONAL TO ASSERT THAT 20 MILLION MOSTLY ILLITERATE LAWBREAKERS would ever vote for Republicans under a platform of “look after yourself”.The illegals are however well versed on how on to bilk the system. They are going to have an epiphany? Someone here should.
“Unfortunately, I believe John McCain will be the next President”
Don’t spend a lot of time worrying about it.
He won’t.
“NOT if they are conservatives. He will destroy the conservative movement. If the GOP think conservatives will vote for a liberal Republican, then that is what we will get every election.”
Fred was my guy. I’ll probably vote for Jerry Curry in the Oklahoma primary. Huckabee would be next, Romney, then McCain last.
If it comes down between McCain and Clinton in the general election, as much as most Republicans are unhappy with McCain on immigration and taxes, a majority of Republicans will vote for him because he is pro-life and strong on the war on terror. And make no mistake, it is vital to pick up one or two more pro-life Supreme Court justices to end the American holocaust of abortion. Millions of unborn children are depending on us to help give them the chance to life.
However, this will probably be more of a vote AGAINST Hillary than a vote FOR McCain. In the lesser of two evils, McCain wins hands down. America simply cannot afford another corrupt, self-serving, Clinton presidency.
I am politically homeless - as are all conservatives right now...
