It’s all about timing. McCain is a recognizable name. Romney is not. That will change. McCain has been running for the Presidency for a long, long, time. LOL.

Okay...but I don’t CARE what he did 30 years ago. John Kerry was in Vietnam, too. :\

Sad that maybe only of the reasons they gave is a good one for being President of the U.S.

"Many religious conservatives want the marriage amendment passed. But McCain voted against it in 2004, when the Senate last voted on the measure."

It gets worse from there. He was against Minnesota Right-to Life to protect his McCain-Feingold bill. Amendments don't get passed easily, but legislation he is responsible for and supports can get passed easily. Legislation informs the SC.

It’ll take a major tragedy, even more than one, before there’s any serious effort to control, and I mean control, the border. I should add that even that won’t have any result if the media continue to under-report border incidents.

...he had been getting all sorts of anti-Romney calls, but that the worst was one telling him that Romney was going to grab his guns.

That was probably from a FReeper, or the McCAIN campaign got the idea from reading FR... Good going with the name-calling, all you Mitt opponents, good going.......

Yep! But they may have to be patient for quite a while. Bush has spent his entire political career courting Hispanics. He speaks Spanish. He loves Mexico and defers to their president. He has Hispanics in his own family. He supports amnesty. And yet, on election day 2004, a majority of Hispanics voted for an arrogant, European-looking, aristocrat named John Kerry. Why? Because he was a liberal Democrat.

Whenever I hear Republicans talking about supporting amnesty, I’m reminded of this old joke:

A shopkeeper complained to his neighbor that he lost $1.00 on every sale. The neighbor asked how he planned to make up for those losses. The shopkeeper replied, “volume”.

That pretty much says it all. The Hispanic vote keeps going against the GOP. So how is the GOP going to make up for those losses? By adding more Hispanic voters.

Just thought I’d mention that about 1.5 million votes on the democrat side and 1.8 million votes for the republican side. The media won’t point out that there was a bigger Republican Turnout.

Because the media knows thousands of those votes are really Dems that re-registered to the Rep Party so they could vote for McCain.

A household name should not be a plus in conservative circles. McCain is only a household name because he’s been around in DC to screw things up so very, very, long.

A lifelong blood sucker.

Just the past some weeks, Tijuana has looked and sounded like bagdad 2 yrs ago.

There are also everyone from the Middle East to Chinese crossing, but hey no big woop.

The two terrorists that flew the plane into the Pentagon on 9/11 lived around 6 miles from me here in San Diego

I can only hope, I really don't know. At least there is a chance with McCrazy. I know what Shrillary will do, and she will do it especially to spite Obama's black base. Who knows what Obama will do? Out of the three, he might be the toughest on immigration because it hurts his base the most.

Might as well vote for Obama. There's a chance he'll turn out to be a conservative Republican. It's a small chance. But it's a good as the chance that that McCain will change his spots on immigration, taxes, freedom of speech etc etc etc.

If America is going down the tubes, we might as well make sure folks know who's to blame. That's the left. Electing McCain gives the left cover and lets the media blame Republicans.

We're at the point where we have to accept that our ideas are unpopular and that the public is going to try on a really, really stupid outfit for a while because it's the latest fashion and all the fashion magazines tell them its new and exciting. That's a done deal.

The question is, when the American public wakes up and realizes how stupid they have been (eg Jimmy Carter, 1979), who gets blamed for the mess? Blame is unclear if John McCain is president. It is unambiguous if HRC or Obama are president.

The best conservatives can do right now is to make sure the blame lies where it belongs. And the best way to do that is to elect a democrat.

He tried. And he found out, just like Florida, that the more people actually see him campaign, the more his poll numbers fall.

I think they all hate Romney because he does everthing better. He raised more money, is more eloquent, is better looking and better groomed. He has also lived a clean life and has achieved what they could only dream about. His wealth even makes them jealous. They come off as petty men compared to Romney and they can’t stand it.
