"MITT ROMNEY NEEDS A BIG PERFORMANCE NEXT TUESDAY - BIG!!!!!!"

Mitt is up 19% points here in Colorado. I was going to caucus for Fred next Tuesday, but I'll be there for Romney now, though with less enthusiasm. 46 delegates in Colorado, almost as many as Florida, though it isn't winner take all and is a complicated (and new)system.

"other bad “tempers”: Andrew Jackson, George Patton, Vince Lombardi, Woody Hayes, Bobby Knight, Bill Belichick—not a winner among them!"

Interestingly enough, the man who probably exercised more summary power than any other in the history of the country, Ulysses Grant, had virtually no temper to speak of. No one ever reported having heard Grant swear and Grant himself could never recall having done so.

“Yes, I’m a Mormon, and it seems like all the Pro-MITT posters are 21 year old missionaries recently returned.. that are going to name their first-born Mitt.

Augh! It’s so embarrassing. If a Mormon was going to run, why not a real conservative.. starting with a Pro-Life conversion from his youth.”

I appreciate you sharing what you said on this forum. As you well know, most of the Mormons here support Mitt, but if this guy wasn’t a Mormon, do you think they would be supporting him? I seriously doubt it. I’m glad you see things for what they are. I have said it several times on various threads, if Mitt had a true consistent record as a conservative (he converted two years ago), I would not care about his Mormonism. I don’t agree with their beliefs, but I don’t at all feel threatened by it. Well, it’s going to be interesting to see who wins the nomination. Whether it’s Mitt or McCain, we’re screwed.

The party and conservatism will endure and eventually come back because our policies are things the country needs.

Well Russia needed a representative government with a free market. Both at the end of WW-I and the end of the Cold War. It didn't get it either time.

There is such a thing as a tipping point, or point of no return. (Or a return after a LONG time). I don't think we are there yet. Ask again after 8 years of Hillary or B. Hussein, or even the loose cannon from Arizona. (At least with McCain, 8 years doesn't seem too likely, but 4 of him followed by 8 of B. Hussein or a political clone thereof is). Assuming those "8"'s don't end in a National Emergency and suspension of elections (and the Constitution, but parts of it are all but suspended anyway) Then we'll see.

"The Congress will remain firmly in Socialist control..."

In '06, the 'Rats ran candidates who were to the right of our incumbents in conservative districts.
(A lot of people were unhappy with Republicans because of runaway spending and moral issues.)
Now, we need to find candidates who are to the right of them.

If we do that, we may be able to take back the House.

There will never be a viable third party in America. Your choices are the Republicans or the Democrats. Pick wisely.

1996 all over again?

The thing is, Dole in '96 looked more youthful than McCain does now.

Today? LOL - that happened the minutes Fred dropped out. There isn't a candidate left that's worth my vote (and none will get it).
