Rudy rolled the dice, hoping for a big win in Florida without spending much time anywhere else. Needless to say, this strategy didn’t exactly work.

Basicially it amounted to wagging a middle finger at the "little states" which doesn't look too good to flyover country.

That and the fact that the base of his support was old Republican ladies who dumped him as soon as the news of his dalliances with Judi while she was his mistriss came out. Same thing happenned to Gov. Nelly Rock in '64.

Quite an understatement, Eric!

Rudy's strategy depended on keeping the front-runner mystique because Florida voters are influenced by national trends, just like everyone else. National opinion always begins to coalesce around winners in New Hampshire and, for the Republicans, South Carolina. It made no sense to skip Iowa, N.H., Nevada and S.C. and think the lead would hold. I understand he's out of money now, too.

Also, Rudy was considered a potential candidate for so long that the Republicans had a chance to examine his liberal tendancies and didn’t like everything they saw. I don’t think they’ve examined Romney as well.

Besides being an anti-gun, pro-abortion, pro-gay, pro-illegal, etc. LIBERAL RINO, the bastard has shown EXTREMELY poor judgement (with placement of emergency response in one of the towers, bernie, women, crossdressing, etc.), and thus, is NOT WORTHY and/or CAPABLE of being our REPUBLICAN LEADER in the White House, especially during time of war.

Good riddance RINO.

Actually, it makes a lot of sense for him to drop out now. He spent a lot of money already in this campaign — and then his campaign tried to pretend he “didn’t try very hard” in places like Iowa and New Hampshire after he had dismal showings there.

wasn’t the strategy..it was the candidate..I was a Rudy supporter..but he sucked in the debates..and was so friendly to McCain..wouldn’t attack him..
