CHRIS PLANTE BIO (some excerpts from WMAL) -
Chris Plante, often sub to Mark The Great One Levin, joined the WMAL team after 17 years at CNN including nearly ten years assigned to the Pentagon covering the U.S. military and intelligence community. Chris was assigned variously as Pentagon Correspondent, Senior Producer for National Security Affairs, Military Affairs Producer and as an assignment editor. He traveled extensively for CNN covering defense related stories from Saudi Arabia in 1990 and Bosnia in 1995, to Vietnam, Indonesia, Africa and the remote corners of the former Soviet Union.
Chris also hosts the public affairs show Homefront America which is currently seen nationally on The American Life television network, and is working as a documentary film maker. Representing the third generation of his family that has been on-the-air in radio and television, Chris brings a unique world-view, and largely conservative/libertarian values to his role as talk show host on WMAL.
Marching in lock-step with no politician, Chris says his political party is Practi-crat, ...because of my distinctly practical political leanings. Chris received the Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio and Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) for his reporting from the Pentagon during the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.

I can’t even imagine Hillary waking up this morning in anything but a foul mood.
I am waiting to call when the pet liberal comes on.
My mother (huge Hillary fan) called me this morning all upset that Obama won in SC, and very erratically stated: “Well, I guess since I’m Italian, then I’m going to vote for Giuliani because he’s Italian too”... she was in such a bad mood that I just hung up.
Hey TBM, welcome back!
Michael, any idea what Chris and Jerry will be discussing in the 2:00 p.m. hour?
In preparation for tomorrow night, they will be asking; Just what IS the state of the union?
Angkor, here’s a reply to your inquiry about the WMAL signal:
“Like all radio stations, our power and signal patterns are dictated by the FCC. We are required to lower our power at sunset, whenever that comes, and change the signal broadcasting pattern (meaning in what direction our signal is going out). In the winter months, that means the switch comes very early this month (January), its 5:15pm. Thats why youre losing the signal at that moment, depending on your location, and the strength of the antenna in your radio. That change in power will move to later in the afternoon/evening each month until June, when it starts going back the other way. The same thing happens in the reverse direction in the morning hours Grandy and Andy cant be heard in some areas until we power up at sunrise, which, obviously, comes later in the morning during the winter months. This is true of all radio stations, and is the law. Its not up to us. Why? The AM signal reacts differently in the daytime from nighttime, and stations very far away that broadcast on our frequency 630 AM might have their signal overlapping with ours, or vice versa, so were all required to adjust. At least, thats a non-engineers understanding of whats going on.
Thanks for listening to 630 WMAL!
Jerry Klein”
I like Chris a lot glad MAL got him, evening after Mark were boring.
What was on evenings after Mark? I don’t even remember...
When I started here, evenings were Chris Core 6-9, John Batchelor 9-1am, then coast to coast.
Chris and Jerry, in the 2:00 p.m. hour, will ask: “Just what IS the ‘State of the Union’?”
Reminder: Chris Plante will be pre-empted (sp?) tomorrow might for a live presentation of the SOTU (starting at 8, with a presentation by Ann Compton of an interview she had with President Bush).
Chris will be back on Tuesday evening, at his regular time slot of 8:00 - 10:00 p.m.
Oh goody
Moonbat time!
Ah yes, Batchelor... love that guy...
Holy Sh*t, this guy is a jackass...
Go, Chris, Go!
Gotta love a pissed-off lib...
I TOTALLY LOVE WHEN CHRIS GETS ENRAGED!!!
“Blowback Boy”... sounds like a gay porn movie title...
Yeah must be from Takoma Park.
Blowback mountain had a good soundtrack but the action was unwatchable
Any idiot caller who calls Chris and claims to know so much about Middle East politics is up for a big surprise... Chris didn’t spend 17 years as an international correspondent at CNN for nothing...
“Backdoor Mountain”...
No John, Chris is not putting words in your mouth... he’s putting them up your A$$...
