A belated thanks, Alfa, for your continued series on helicopters. As the mom of a helicopter pilot, these are interesting for me. Of course, he flies the Schweitzer now, as he is still training, though he has his commercial license.

I think he wants to do lots more flying when he retires from the Air Force, so he tries to keep his license current.

This is the daughter of the retaining walls. Now ordinarilly she would have called us to tell us that:

A - She had a busted pipe which
B - Meant that she had a boatload of water in the basement and that
C - She had gone to the BORG and bought a pump and was pumping the water out and
D - Could we bring the wet-vac over in the morning and could I check out the furnace and the water heater.

However she had just got home from school about 7pm. She teaches what we used to call Home Ec:-) and had stayed late to get lessons plans ready for next week because she has jury duty. To add to the fun our S-I-L was working late and he had the car. So the Mrs and I got to “help out” For once I am glad that we have cell phones as it saved us a lot of time and trouble.

I’m just glad it wasn’t any worse, this spring we will re- route the offending outdoor faucet and that will hopefully prevent the problem from happening again.

Sorry to see the pic of your themometer on the front porch. We had a couple of nights of temps close to 0 last week and it played hob with the process at work. At least I was on days last week and we had a good crew on the night shifts those nights.
