Depends LLS, our “guys” this time around are not down the line rock ribbed folks, heck, they aren’t even very good politicians, however, being counter driven, we see the Clintonistas on the other side of the ballot.
Filtering dregs to pour a cup of acceptable?
More then likely, but on Taxes, Amnesty, NRA issues, War in Iraq, and the War on Terror, there are light years of difference between our candidates and Hilde and the Dhimmis.
My political “gut” tells me McCain will win the nomination, my hope was in Fred, and my Realpolitik is on Mitt.
For all of Mitt’s “aw shucks” he is every bit the back alley fighter that Nixon was...and Nixon was a Quaker...

"Huckabee takes the cake though, with his WMDs moved to Jordan comment. His knowledge of foreign affairs is very, very thin."
I caught that too. Usually if you just have a decent knowledge of geography and world history you can bluff your way through the foriegn affairs stuff but that was funny. Jordan is the only muslim country in that area that isn't a foaming at the mouth terrorist infested jihad seeking hellhole.

I happen to be one of those people. Although it scares me to think of my neighbors with weapons like that.
You certainly can’t defend our country today with handguns and assault rifles.
Since the founders expected an armed citizenry to be the thing that stopped the government, it would seem we need enough weaponry to do that. But as I said earlier, we need a thread to discuss that which isn’t a campaign-related thread, so we can all argue without people labelling candidates based on our own thoughts.

it was a terrible debate for Romney. You watched a different debate than I did.

I think Hillary and Bill are both smart but not grounded or intelligent.
I need to come up with a good term for 'practical intelligence'. I was just talking about this tonight. A friend's daughter was always very smart in high school, valedictorian, all AP classes, etc. I thought she'd go far. Yet, she's changing majors often in college, likely to get a useless liberal arts degree, and then some low-paying job based on that degree. She's 'smart', but not.....what's the best phrase or word for that?

I think Huck's true calling is used car dealer or perhaps Wisconsin Cheese salesman. Hey! I have family in Wisconsin...stop dissing the cheese!

Nope, ‘fraid I was drug kicking and screaming here... but I saw tonight that Mitt and Guiliani (or whomever Mitt picks) will send Her Thighness into the dustbins.
Fred’s gone. I mourn and mope, but the war goes on.
Hey, if you want Huck, that’s fine, just don’t get too attached like I did to Fred because you will be annihilated, and have to make the painful switch sooner, not later.

My God! I really hope you have been drinking or something so that you can later say, “Oh, that was just the alcohol talking.”
IF...and that is a very big IF, if you haven’t been drinking...I’m sorry, very sorry for your condition.

But in ours, the media hammers our guy mercilessly, and portrays Hillary as a paragon of virtue.
Ok, you're right.

No, but he’s gotten smarter since his first foray into politics, and now he agrees with me, which is always the sign of a smart man.
As I said earlier, I don’t live in the 1990s. It’s a new century.

"Sorry to introject here, but personally, I dont want an average Joe as POTUS. That just doesnt cut it."
I dunno. Reagan although as classy as it gets also had an average joe-favorite uncle quality about him.

It’s not the beverage, it’s the level of comfort with a Candidate, that is the key behind the question of:
Who would you like to have a beer with?

That is an important thing to know about Mitt. Thank you!!
To: altura
I am under the influence of passion for America and anger at how soft and liberal the Republican Party and half of FR has become. You accuse me of drugs and drinking and as GOD as my witness... a diet Pepsi (cherry flavored) is all that I have had... although I did have some 2% milk with dinner.
How classy this new Republican movement is. If I am so bad, let them ban me. I have pinged Jim so that he can ask me to leave if he thinks that I am the problem. The way I look at it is that there are many of us here on this thread posting the truth and facts and your side is angered and playing the politics of personal destruction, while blaming those you attack of the very things that you are yourself doing. That is a very familiar tactic.

Well, he looks a whole lot better than Ron Paul.
Not really. Ron Paul is a nut, but an honest nut. He honestly believes what he says and it shows in his face. There’s beauty in honesty. Romney has no beauty.

Nothing here yet but earlier Mitt was ahead here:
