Limbaugh said on Monday’s show: "I can see possibly not supporting the Republican nominee this election, and I never thought that I would say that in my life."

The reason: “You don’t have a genuine down-the-list conservative” among the GOP candidates.

This is an old story and was discussed earlier this week when he said it.

But the quotes above are misleading. He didn't say he wouldn't vote BECAUSE there was no "down-the-list" conservative. His reasoning was much more complicated, and came down to looking at the polls and thinking that a guy he could not possibly support might actually win the party nomination.

The two he said he would have trouble with: McCain and Huckabee.

Rush just said a minute ago there is one or two GOP candidates he would vote for.

Then he said, "one"

We know for a fact he will not vote for McCain or Huckabee or Paul so that leaves Rudy and Mitt.

Rush is just disappointed that his guy (Rudy) is doomed. He should have endorsed Fred.

He'll wind up supporting the GOP nominee.

The Republican front-runners want the nomination “because it's their turn,” he also stated

Rush didn't imply a plural there. It seemed he was discussing McCain, who would be the only candidate running who really would feel "entitled" in the way Dole did.

I've looked at my core issues, then at the candidates remaining. Currently we agree 60% and they are not conservative 40%. So when it looks like this, why vote for someone, when they are so wrong, so often? My top 2 were Hunter and Thompson, without them it is looking really bad. I may go 3rd party too.

Conservative I am! But Republican? Not anymore if this is what they've got!

Here’s your link.

"You are supposed to grab your crotch when you say that"

"But wouldn't that hurt?"

Funny lines from Scrubs.

I’ve only heard him say “If you believe Romeny’s conversion is genuine, then . . . “

Very telling.

WHen he said that, THompson was still in the race, and he even gave specific examples for EACH of the 4 candidates that made them not a “down the line” conservative, including Thompson.

Rush sees flaws in every candidate. However, in that same monologue he explained why Romney was acceptable while McCain was NOT acceptable.

Rush is a first class hypocrite! He’s part of the problem. There were two solid Conservatives in the GOP race and he did not lift a finger to help one them. So, I just don’t want to hear it from him....

The suction to support any Republican will be huge especially if Hillary is the Dem nominee. I decided long before the primaries I wouldn’t vote for Mitt under any circumstances and I’ll stick to that. Doubt Rush will be able to resist the anti-Hillary feelings but we’ll see.

This is NOT an endorsement, of course. But Rush DOES live in Florida, so he does have to pick one to vote for. He can’t vote for two.

So in one sense, he’s just pointing out that when he votes, he won’t be voting for “one or two”, he will have to choose one.

I would have voted for one candidate as well, but still supported two, if Thompson had made it to Virginia.

I don’t think Rush is going to tell us which candidate he voted for.

btw if the choice is Romney or Mccain, its romney hands down. “neither” would also be an acceptable answer.

Know exactly how Rush feels.

He has never been in lock-step for Republicans at all costs.

And neither have I.

Which leads me to:

McCain or Romney or Huckabee or Giuliani vs. Hillary?

Since any one of them would be a train wreck for the country, the pertinent questions are:

1. Do I want the wreck blamed on Clinton/Democrats or Republicans?

2. Would we have been blessed with Ronald Reagan if not for having survived Jimmy Carter?

3. Can I trust McCain or Romney or Huckabee or Giuliani to nominate Supreme Court candidates who would defend the Constitution and the rights therein rather be judicial activists?

Trust McCain? A daunting task. He has more questionable baggage than an El Al airliner flying from Mecca after the Haj.

Trust Romney? I watched him debate Ted Kennedy for Mass. Senator and try to out-Kennedy a Kennedy. Sorry, not looking for someone to "work" with the Dems, looking for someone to slap them into line. Bet your sweet bippy Reid, Pelosi, et al aren't looking to "work" with any Republican President.

Trust Huckabee? Not on my radar screen. He's flying to low to register.

Trust Rudy? I've heard his tune. It has a lousy beat and I can't dance to it.

I have never skipped an election since my first in 1968. It is too valuable a right and an obligation.

However, I have never felt so despondent considering my choices.

Even in 1996.

Maybe I'll just write-in Ronald Reagan.

If dead Democrats can vote, why can't dead Republicans serve.

And it might just get us to a brokered convention where Republicans can get someone they truly want with no undue influence from or for media darlings.

Some silly sitcom about a bunch of people who work at a hospital.

In the dialog, the guy says “I’ve got your (something) here”, and the nurse looks at him and says “you’re supposed to grab your crotch when you say that”, and he replies “But wouldn’t that hurt?”

I don’t know if it was really funnier to see it. Sorry. YOu’re “here’s your link” with no link reminded me of it.
