ANYONE THINK IT IS TIME FOR ANOTHER PARTY?

Posted on 01/23/2008 1:05:47 PM PST by gbscott1954

I was sitting here thinking something that I have thought before several times in recent months. The Republican Party began as a third party championing the cause of abolition and westward expansion. Just was wondering some of your thoughts about if it is time to begin thinking about a new true conservative party dedicated to true conservative principles?

If the time is right, Bloomie will start a new party. Whatever he calls it, he’ll be a contendah.

>Let’s fix what’s broken in the GOP.

Nice words.

If you keep voting for RINOs how do you expect to change anything?
And Mitt is as pro abort as they come.

“I’d rather take back the Republican Party than go through starting a whole new one.”

Agree completely.

Same goes with Churches.

You may mean a second party. Bush - Clinton - Bush - Clinton. I’ve had enough.

Every third party I have been involved with (Constitution, Libertarian, Conservative of NY, etc.) always attract flakes and are basically glorified role playing games a la Dungeons and Dragons.

You're right. And I think the reason is because normal people are never overtly political, regardless of affiliation. Those who gravitate toward fringe movements are "fringe" people; i.e., those who are never quite comfortable in their own skin, much less in the company of others. It is a rather human tendency to be forgiving of the idiosyncrasies of others. Each little difference is what makes us unique. My experiences with "movement" people, even those with whom I shared a veritable piñata full of ideological simpatico have been ones which always caused me to withdraw rather than advance, as their adherents are uniformly critical and dismissive of even the slightest perceived deviation from their ideological canon. Besides which, they frequently have no damned sense of humor, which I personally find intolerable, and that's my ideological canon.

We should change the names of the two major parties. The Democrats are totalitarian, not democratic. And the Republicans are craven RINOs, not stalwart defenders of the Republic.

I’ve recommended for some time that the Democrats be called the MACHIAVELLIAN PARTY, since they do whatever it takes to achieve total power and when in office take punitive action against those who vote against them. The Republicans should be called the ANTI-MACHIAVELLIAN PARTY, since they spend most of their time in office pandering to the very people who hate their guts.

Primary example: The Democrats and the Republicans both want to flood the country with illegal aliens, who will vote Democrat.

“cut and runners support fellow cut and runners”

And fake conservatives (rinos) support fellow fake conservatives (rinos).

"Yes, it’s time for a new party for sure, has been for a while now "

Buchanan was ahead of the curve [as usual].

What a novel idea....

Worked out real well in 1992 as I recall.

Those of you who actually believe a new party would do anything than elect the hag are dumber than I thought.
