This was a surprise. From the Hunter statement:
"I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail," said Hunter. "Of the remaining candidates I feel that he is strongly committed to strengthening national defense, constructing the border fence and meeting the challenge of China's emergence as a military superpower that is taking large portions of Americas industrial base."
"Along with these issues of national security, border enforcement and protecting the U.S. industrial base, I see another quality of Mike Huckabee's candidacy that compels my endorsement. Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity. I saw that character over the last year of campaigning and was greatly impressed. The other Republican candidates have many strengths and I wish them all well. My personal choice is Mike Huckabee," Hunter concluded.
Actually Ron makes a lot of sense on many fiscal issues. I just think the WOT and destruction of Islamofacism are too important to dismiss as too expensive and leave for the next generation.
Huckabee throughout his many years as governor of Arkansas never once did any of the things he SAYS he is for now but he did do the opposite of what he says he is for now.
Huckabee is for illegal aliens and for Amnesty as his record shows. He never did anything in his nearly 10 years or so as governor to stop illegal immigrants but he did give them in-state tuition and wanted to give them the vote and many more examples.
Huckabee was never for a fair tax when he was governor but Huckabee did raise the income and sales tax for a net increase of 500 million in taxes.
This Huckster is slick he knows that it would take a constitutional amendment to repeal the income tax which would never pass so we'll be stuck with another tax , a national income tax on top of the high progressive income tax and the Huckster will just tell conservatives he tried while giving as a new 23% tax
Mike Huckabee disses Americans, Mexicans, promotes illegal immigration

Christians Need To Beware Of Mike Huckabee

While Gov. of Arkansas, Huckabee was AGAINST proving citizenship in order to register to vote. He called those who were in favor of this racists..

Huckabee fought hard to kill an Arkansas bill which would have cut off social services for illegal aliens. Huckabee called the bill, anti-Christian and un-American...

Huckabee supported in-state tuition for illegal aliens...

Huckabees opposition to the illegal aliens bill:
At this point, no matter who Duncan Hunter endorsed, a large contingent of Freepers would be going WTF????? Rudy, Mitt, Huckabee, Paul, McCain, Keyes, whoever... it would be a large amount of griping from people who didn't receive Duncan's blessing for their personal choice of candidate.
As far as I'm concerned, I'm voting Alan Keyes regardless of Duncan Hunter's recommendation. I am free to disagree, just as Tancredo supporters were free to disagree with Tancredo's endorsement. Such is life.
Maybe he’s busy looking for land in New Zealand.
Fair enough ... I respect that, and even agree to some extent.
One of my biggest concerns about Huck is that, in spite of his considerable political skills, I don't think he is quite ready for prime time ... either as a national candidate or as President.
I think this is reflected in some of his back-and-forth position statements and uncareful statements ("amend the Constitution to conform to the Word of God," etc.). He's flying too much by the seat of his pants (and doesn't have the large corp of advisors that some of the others have to keep him out of trouble.)
Who was your first choice?
Is he still in the race?
Hunter’s endorsement of Huckabee is completely understandable. Know-nothings flock together.
Maybe he is “throwing” his vote away. McCaine and Romney have the best chance to win.
Yet he backs Huckabee who really doesn’t seem destined to be the nominee.
He probaly feels the others suck so decided to go for Gomer.
Why do I feel all slimy and creeped out though, when I see Mike Huckabee?
Please say it isn’t so, Duncan!
No, but in some contexts that was the official position of the pro-life movement.
I don’t want to say it’s a game, but as hard as it was to push pro-life judges who would overturn Roe, we knew it would be impossible if we argued that the result of that would be to ban abortion nationally.
So many pro-lifers would say that ALL overturning Roe does is to put the abortion question back into the hands of the voters of each state, where it belongs.
I’m sure I said that a time or two, although obviously in MY state I was going to fight to prohibit abortion, and I was going to continue to work for the day we could ban abortion nationally.
But no, I don’t know that much about Huckabee’s former positions on many things.
This makes sense - they are almost identical on the issues.
BINGO!
Corrupt? NOT! Argue with his positions if you like, but leave that crap to DU.
**snort**
Maybe someone has alluded to this already; I haven’t read all the comments yet. If so, My apologies to whoever came up with it first:

Obviously that old conspiracy theory about Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton being a done deal by the powers that be is true.
I just didnt realize that Hunter was controlled by the Bilderbergers or the Trilateral Commission.
A year ago, If I said that it would have been sarcasm.
Now, Im not so sure: I cant really figure out any better explanation why the Republican Party and all of its candidates could be acting so absolutely stupidly.
LOL.
