This was a surprise. From the Hunter statement:
"I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail," said Hunter. "Of the remaining candidates I feel that he is strongly committed to strengthening national defense, constructing the border fence and meeting the challenge of China's emergence as a military superpower that is taking large portions of Americas industrial base."
"Along with these issues of national security, border enforcement and protecting the U.S. industrial base, I see another quality of Mike Huckabee's candidacy that compels my endorsement. Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity. I saw that character over the last year of campaigning and was greatly impressed. The other Republican candidates have many strengths and I wish them all well. My personal choice is Mike Huckabee," Hunter concluded.
RADIO ALERT: Duncan Hunter is going to be on Rusty Humphries tonight.
every single one.
Yeah, that bit with the attack ad made me completely despise the Huckster — he wanted “moral credit” from the press and public for declining to air the attack ad, but then he PLAYED IT for the assembled media!!! So let’s see, if I’m Mike Huckster I’m above any “negative” politics except that I’m not above showing the attack ad to all the journalists I can find so that its message gets out anyway. Pure dishonest sanctimonious charlatanism of a Clintonista kind......
I’m still waiting for a Reagan Republican to appear - I will probably be waiting for a very long time at this rate.
Well, now you can say you’ve gone to Romney’s website.
Guess I’ll mosey over there and do a bit of looking around.
I have no idea but Huck and Bill are both from the same town in Arkansas...Hope of all places!
Paul isn’t CFR.
Huh?
His father was in the Pacific Theatre and W flew fighter jets in TX air national guard.
So, I'm very confused about an historical comment on bombing Nazi Death Camps convincing you. Could you elaborate a bit more?
As a result he called DH and made a deal. VP for endorsement.
It took me to Mitt’s Fl Headquarters. I took their banner. He’s probably got some Jeb people (no fan of Jeb now) on his team cuz some of the titles look really familiar. I need to find out who Brett Doster is for. He was a major campaign guy who worked for Tom Gallagher instead of Crist. Doster is the smartest campaign guy in the southeast. (it wouldn’t be like him to be for McCain or Huckabee. I’ll find him somewhere.)
What the hell??? I thought Hunter had some integrity!
why do I find this amusing?
Because it’s funny watching all the diehard Duncan supporters squirm. I’m enjoying myself immensely, especially since I took a lot of flack when I said Duncan would end up supporting either Huckabee or McCain. So, I’ve got my popcorn out while reading this thread. Hey Pissant, hahahahahahahah.
Huckster is a Christian democrat. Socially conservative, but a progressive in policy.
That is why he FEELS for all those illegal aliens. You vote for him, you will pay for them.
All these reaganlike promises are going to fool either the people that really believe in him, or he will fool those that think they are getting a conservative.
Christian democrats are not Reagan conservatives.
That is exactly what I thought. As a Christian, I thought...this man is a Christian? He has done several other things very similar to that one, and it just makes my skin crawl.
As for issues, he was the ONLY Republican that said during a debate that he did not approve of President Bush's veto on the S CHIP bill! That makes him a BIG nanny state liberal.
Ain't gonna happen.
“Somebody needs to run and check on Ann Coulter...the president of the Duncan Hunter groupie fan club. Take away her firearms.”
Ann Coulter endorsed Mitt Romney.
To be sure every thinking individual right-of-center has their personal *conservative* checklist handy on what constitutes a conservative, but 28 years in Congress is rather self-serving and apparently disqualifying to the 99% of the idiot electorate who knew that all along, it's that vocal 1% that don't get it, and that's intriguing. Mysterious, too.
And it*s obvious that with over 75,000 contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan, big money is being made, so—it hurts to ask this!—do you think this is why the war has dragged on for so long? And why it could drag on (with either Dem or Rep in power)for years more? We are losing our best and brightest and strongest, we are sapping our resources and going further in debt, foreign countries (Dubai et al)are picking us clean like vultures. Ron Paul knows darn well he couldn*t just bring our people home, just like that, but he would start the withdrawal and work in stages as its always done; the Iraqis should by now be capable of running their own country. Mr Bush inserted our men & women to fight but expected them to do it LBJ style, be careful and don*t hurt civilians, etc. LBJ lost Vietnam for us and we stand to lose this one—at terrible cost. Go ahead & flame, I can take it.
I never said anything about suspending your own judgment.
If you backed Hunter before, you should take what he says into consideration.
Thank you for your very informative post. I am surprised there are so many that really think Huckabee is a conservative!
