..though I do not understand this, the one thing that keeps me calm is the character and integrity of DH.
I am looking forward to more statements from him soon...

I can hold two thoughts at one time. I don’t support killing babies, and I don’t support torturing poor dumb animals for “kicks”. They aren’t mutually exclusive.

He wants us OUT of the UN. I think I read that EVERY year he puts forth a bill to get us out of it.
CJ....can you help with more particulars on this?
Thanks.

Good gravy! That’s pretty bad!
I do not trust Huckabee on amnesty, and all its evil fruit. No way!

“Some of the Fred and Paul people tried to inform the Duncan Hunter fans that maybe he was a bit TOO protectionist from a trade standpoint and his actual voting record revealed some flaws.”
True, but nobody listened.”
Apparently, it is a thin line between protectionism and populism, for example Pat Buchanan.

Huckabee wants to change the Constitution in the name of religion.
And you would prefer the people to advocate amendments based on environmentalism? Darwinism perhaps? Where do you get the idea that all human life is worth something without religion?
Huckabee plays the Im more Christian than they are game. Thats disingenous of him.
And Romney claiming to be "Christian" isn't disingenuous?

I made calls to certain people in Arkansas and I can tell you that a 40 year friend that is an attorney that would know, confirmed it... and there is more such shenanigans if anyone digs deep enough... and bill clinton will.

You use my term also. This being moot.
Hunter is one of our 5 congressmen here in San Diego.
He doesn’t go off half cocked.
There may be some reasoning to be known later, if not I say it is moot as of the 4 GOP folks left, they are all different versions of liberal to moderate and all flip flopers with no cor
In other words, no real choice for DH to support.

And "spiritual" means keep it private and tell no one? Ignore Jesus' great commission and have a religious test so any law that can be traced back to the Bible is unconstitutional? I order of your bringing it up:
1. No, as Mr. Huckabee has been exemplary of simply "speaking the truth in love" and "letting yes be yes and no be no."
2. I don't understand, but if you're referring to Huckabee's comments in Michigan, they referred to our Creator's "natural law," as Jefferson and the signers put it and specifically to the critical, fundamental matters of human life and marriage.

I am a Bible-believing Christian who holds many of what would be called “fundamentalist” views. I have no problem with a person who is open about their faith-I think they shouldn’t be anything but open, unless they’re ashamed, which we are not to be. I still won’t vote for Huckabee.

Im expecting Duncan to give a much clearer accounting of his reasons and he obviously has spoken to Huck and Im willing to hear him out. I suspect Hunter likes the fact that Huck is the most reliably pro-gun, pro-life, and pro-fair trade candidate remaining in the field. These are issues Huckabee hasn't flipped flopped on, and they're big issues.
Now to the meat of the problem. We all know the Huckster has flip-flopped on illegal immigration -- did almost a complete 180, in fact. So the question is, does Hunter believe his change of position was genuine? Hard to say for sure, but one thing is certain -- none of the other candidates have proven themselves reliable on the illegal immigration issue either.
I'm inclined to give Hunter the benefit of the doubt here.
To: LibLieSlayer
Well given that Jeffery Dahmer and Ed Gein started their careers with dogs, Mike Huckabee's motivation for seeking the Presidency is now clear.
He wants to possess the authority to pardon his son when the need arises.

All I can think of is that there must be an explanation for Hunter’s endorsement. I agree with you on trusting his integrity. And we both know he’s an intelligent man.
And here were Duncan’s FReepers just talking about drafting him. I’m still for that.
