Governor Mitt Romney On Fred Thompson Withdrawing His Candidacy
Why must I cut regional bias, I don’t see any lack of candidate bias around here. I never saw any lack of bias opinions.
If they frown on my views, so be it. I am bias because of what I see, and I will call it as I see it. You are asking me to keep quiet about the elitists of the east. Why? Why should it be a problem to you?
I just do not respect laws that try and destroy families, I do not respect anti-religion bigotry, and I do not respect the politicians I have seen in congress.
Why post an opinion if you have to censor that opinion because it is prejudiced for your own region. I imagine every region is prejudiced.
Go back to your liberal region and quit trying to take free-speech away from those in other areas.
“One could tell in debates that Mitt had a lot of respect for Fred. Nice statement release.”
It is show. Mitt only respects Mitt and the hierarchy in Salt Lake City.
Pardon me, but in your post, you posted that that was what he was doing.
Which is it? Was either way bad? Or are you just angry.
I guess I look at it this way...Romney never would have ever been governor of Massachusetts by spouting the virtues of conservatism. However, once Romney was governor, he was the most conservative governor that state had in a loooooong time. A lot of the things I’ve seen him criticized for here of FR are a result of the conservative ideas he generated being bastardized and ultimately picked apart by the 70+% liberal Massachusetts legislature.
If the abortion issue bothers you, then I’m never going to be able to change your mind on that one; however, Romney has always said he has been personally opposed to it. When he ran for senator and for governor, he promised to maintain the status quo on abortion and even went so far as to veto any attempts by the liberals to make abortion more accessible in the state (e.g. morning after pill). If he wasn’t willing to aid and abet while being “pro-choice” in an extremely liberal state, I really don’t see how he would suddenly do so as president.
I see him get criticized a lot on the gun issue, but he’s never threatened to take away anyone’s rights on that one. He’s not flip-flopped on that either. He was for the AWB then and he still is...so is our current president as well as a large portion of sitting Republican members of Congress. Only the one-issue voters have a weird hang-up with keeping the types of guns Romney and others would disallow. If that somehow disqualifies his as a conservative, then I don’t think most people would be considered conservatives. JMHO.
Well Romney might get this FredHead’s vote. Definately ANYONE BUT mccain, huckleberry, hitlery or ossamma obbamma.
Even though FRED dropping out was not good news this afternoon, FRED still was the most consistant conservative and well worth the time, contributions and efforts to try for the best we had to chose from.
Yeah; that makes sense....LOL
Well, like Tom Tancredo said when he endorsed Romney, Mitt was tough on the illegal immigration issue before it was cool. Way back in 2003, Mitt denied illegals driver's licenses and tuition breaks. He insisted on English immersion as well. Tancredo knows this issue and he trusts Mitt to do the right thing. Plus, all of our other options are far less trustworthy on this issue.
Mitt didn’t directly ask for anyone’s vote in the statement. He’s kissing up to Fred in the hopes of getting Fred’s supporters, but won’t come out and say it.
“Mitt Romney reminds me of my grandfather”
That’s odd. He reminds me of a guy who sold me a car with sawdust in the tranny.
Just for my education...I’m assuming that you are a Southern voter. Could you please explain to me (a clueless Westerner), what the big hang-up it seems people in the South have against Northerners? Really, I’m not pointing fingers. I’m serious. Is it the same fight as it was 150 years ago? I just don’t get it.
We all would hope so.
But that being said...there are regional differences. There is simply no denying that New Hampshire, Massachussetts, and New York are relatively isolated from the worst numbers of the illegal alien invasion... so far...and their equanimity...if not to say indifference... about the issue reflects that.
Why is telling the truth all of a sudden low class?
That IS his record.
Nope. I’m in the indifference camp right now.
ROFLMAO!
And Huck is all show too. So where does that leave us?
So, then he would have been considered whoring for Fred’s votes.
Look, I am not happy about our choices at all.
After watching the Democrats debate last night, God help us, there is nothing left.
Stay home and let the beast win, hope a dark conservative hope rides in, or pick from what is left.
My initial reaction is to sit it out....but....just go watch that debate. If you have kids or grandkids, you just get really nauseous.
I am no happier than you are. I guess we are learning what the meaning of “is” is.
Someone posted this on another thread: Romney/Haley Barbour
I believe most Republicans would vote for Romney with Barbour by his side - what a great ticket that would be since looks like we have to support Romney to keep Hillary or Barack Hussein Obama out of the White House.
Mitt Romney/Haley Barbour
Massachusetts and New York are most certainly not isolated, even in a relative sense, from the impact of illegal immigration. The numbers in New York are huge. Have you been to New York City in the last 5 years? Same thing in Massachuetts. Huge numbers of illegals in the Boston area.
I'd dare say that Massachuetts and New York are feeling it stronger than most states. Perhaps not as much as California, but still they are feeling it.
For crying out loud, it's nearly impossible to hire a maid or gardener in Boston or New York who's no illegal. Nearly all the janitors and busboys are illegals. Half the people working in fastfood restaurants there are illegal.
>> I missed what Huckabee said,
Something about metamucil.
“Slick Mitt is an anti-gun, pro-queer agenda, forced nanny state health care tyranny, forced subsides for abortions, no guts to veto liberal tyranny, NE liberal.”
But you don’t mean that in a BAD way, right? ;-)
