Carl Cameron says it'll become offical sometime later this week.

Oh well, we're doomed. Let's hope it'll be minimal damage until 2012.

“Strong on defense, understands business & free markets, optimistic, etc)”

Isn’t that the Reagan formula after all?

People keep waiting for Reagan, and the most Reaganesque campaign comes along in a long while and they dont even see it in front of them.

this speech reminded me a lot of Reagan’s speeches, especially his comments about Washington:

QUESTION for you all:

WHEN (not if) Huckabean drops out, what percentage of his followers will go for ROMNEY and what percentage for McNugget??? __________________

I don’t know enough about Evangelicals (I usually ignore them), to know what their inclination would be. So maybe some of you have a better grasp on this.

We now know that:

1. Many of Thompson’s backers seem to go for Romney because he’s more conservative than the others.

2. Huckabee WILL be withdrawing eventually (prob after Feb 5th).

3. The massive shift of followers from these two candidates will play a key role in who is the front runner thereafter.

It will come down to Romney or McCain. That has been clear since New Hampshire.

I believe whoever wins the R nomination will face Shrillery AND Obamalamadingdong on the same ticket.

Right now, I frankly don’t see any of the remaining repulican dwarves being about to overcome that special liberal woman/mulatto team.

Rudy, maybe. God help us.

Ok, I actually don't know all that much about politics. Became somewhat less self-absorbed after 911 though and decided to start paying attention.

There are no friends in politics.

That reminds of the saying "if you want a friend in Washington, D.C. - get a dog". LOL.

“We’re DOOMED!”

It is what it is. The Republican Party has made its bed by choosing horrible stands and caving to the Democrats at all turns...completely the opposite of what Ronald Reagan would have done and what conservatism is all about.

Now, we will reap what we have sown. Why we expected anything else is beyond me.

“I will not vote for McCain or Huckabee ever!”

I am too loyal of a Republican to promise this ... but I surely would HATE for it to come to that.

Please, Florida, save us from McInsane!

Yes I have. I’ve thought about it qite a bit.

It was always Hunter, Thompson, then Paul, and the rest aren’t worth a pile of elephant crap.

I think Rudy is the next one out. If he places third in FL, he’s doen. He’s staked his candicy on it. Romney will get a boost with Thompson out. I think either way 1. McCain 2. Romney; 1. Romney 2. McCain in FL - both are in past Super Tuesday.

And I still call McCain a traitor, not just because of his support for foreign invasion of our land, but also for his socialist tax policies, subversion of judge appointments, denial of Americans their freedom of speech via CFR, providing comfort to the enemy by his public denunciation of Camp Delta at Guantanamo Bay and statements regarding water bordeing as torture, his support for the destruction of our economy by his attempts to 'global warming', among other issues.

Please, don't hold back, tell us what you really think of Senator McCain (RINO-AZ).

(gathers self together)

I will vote Republican, no matter what.

I will not be part of handing this election over to Mrs. Clinton or Mr. Obama on a silver platter.
