Who Exactly Is Running for President? The Bill Show.

By Victor Davis Hanson

I wrote not long ago about Bill as the “Clinton Albatross,” but now it is more apt to compare him to an attack dog unleashed. His (not her) victory speech in Nevada was quite extraordinary: He went on and on, while she stood next to him, mute. He gloated over her comeback, took digs at the other candidates, referenced himself of course, and was reluctant to give up his iron grip on the microphone.

Her expression was that of a classic “Don’t dare ask me to muzzle that Doberman!” frozen bystander. If she can’t control him, how could she control the country — or is that a fair comparison, given that his pathologies are far greater than those of our collective nation? It defies the laws of physics for such a narcissist to recede into the shadows, or yield to his wife, or play a private role, quietly calling in political debts.

In 2000, George Bush Sr. was careful not to be too partisan and mostly kept out of the campaign limelight. There was no sense that a vote for W. was simply an endorsement of a Bush I continuance. So Bill’s ubiquity on the campaign — sharp partisan attacks and caricatures, misinformation about his own record, fiery outbursts to reporters — is quite unprecedented for an emeritus president, especially one who had so carefully cultivated his image as a global insider and international humanitarian.

If between 2001 and 2008 the Clinton legacy was something to be defended by all Democrats, Hillary’s candidacy and Bill’s unseemly behavior are calling it into question.

BJ still hasn’t gotten it through his gray head that he’s no longer in the WH.

The simple truth is Mr. and Mrs. Clinton BORE the [bleep] out of Americans—boring anachronisms of another century...with a following as mystical as Loch Ness or Bigfoot.

Hillary will be president, and Bill will have great power and influence.

Actually, I think he understands fully that he is no longer in the WH.

It has become abundantly clear who will be running the show if she’s elected. Unfortunately, for many that’s a reason to vote for her.

Hillary a PINO? I think there is a joke here somewhere, but the thought of her as President removes all humor from me.

Dick Morris claims this is part of the Clinton Strategery. In 1992, Hillary took the arrows from the GOP while Monica's ex-boyfriend was relatively unscathed. Now, in 2008, the roles are reversed: While Obama is going after Juanita Broaddrick's probable rapist, Hillary is getting off scot-free.

Don't know if this is truly the case, but it seems to be working so far.

“Hillary a PINO?”

A lot of people, including me at times, thought that was what Bill was, it did seem sometimes that she was pulling his strings, were we that wrong?

Miss Hitlery was her husband’s attack dog for all those years. Now it is his turn to be the attack dog for her. Can we just put these two dogs in a kennel somewhere? His library looks like it would make a good kennel.

I LOVED it when Obama told Hillary last night “It’s hard to tell which one of you I’m running against sometimes”. I hope Obama makes this comment at every opportunity. :0)

Voters need to visualize what it will really be like having the Clinton marriage psycho-drama back in the White House: Bill roaming the hallways day and night, sitting in on high level staff meetings, meddling in matters of grave importance with zero accountability. ....And then there’s the serial sexual harraser/sex addict problem....
