I think if Fred planned on staying in he would have said so. He has to know that by not saying anything about going on to Florida and/or beyond, it would hurt him in fund raising and organization. It also lets all of the news show say he is getting out, which has to have cost him some support.

Ding ding, we have a winner.

Fred will be out after Florida, if not before.

If he can’t win in SC, where can he win?

I think if Fred planned on getting out he would have said so. He knows that McCain and Huckabee only won in SC with votes from liberals and independents. Now they face only registered Republicans and will fade fast. Rudy hasn’t won anything and he does not have Florida locked up. Florida is still in play for Fred and the debate is Thursday where Fred will shine again! I am with Fred as long as Fred is in the race. GO FRED!

Fred's been kinda busy since last night, checking on his Mother who has pneumonia.

I'm amused at all those trying to give Fred the bum's rush. There have been a total of 6 primaries, several of which he's come in second or third. Maybe we ought to wait a few weeks to see how things shake out? Has Rudy won any primaries yet? Has he come in second or third? Why isn't anyone calling for him to get out of the race?

You really can’t keep up.

Thompson plans to go on to Florida

Boston Globe ^ | 1/19/08 | Joe Williams
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Fred Thompson, trailing Mike Huckabee and John McCain in the polls, will continue his presidential bid even if he finishes third in today’s South Carolina primary, his campaign said. Thompson, who had talked of South Carolina as his last stand, appeared this afternoon at a gun show in a suburban Shriners’ auditorium — a natural fit given his strong support of the Second Amendment right to own firearms. Several patrons wore “Fred ‘08” stickers on their clothing; as Thompson swept into the packed hall he was greeted by a modest round of applause. “Go, Fred!” one woman...
