Sen. John McCain won Saturday's South Carolina Republican presidential primary, AP projects.

Fox News and NBC News exit polls ranked the economy as the top concern among South Carolina primary voters, followed by illegal immigration, the war in Iraq, and terrorism.

Columnist and Weekly Standard Editor William Kristol commenting on Saturday's results on the Fox News Channel said that the Republican field is now winnowing down to just three viable candidates: McCain, Mitt Romney, and Rudy Giuliani.

Fine. She gets elected. And the GOP gets the message that their RINOS are unacceptable candidates.

Will that matter when we have an even larger terrorist attack because the Democrats are soft on foreign policy and military matters? I don't want a Democrat anywhere NEAR the Oval Office, and I won't allow one to be elected by not voting, just because my guy didn't make it as the nominee.

McCain will probably get a slight boost and take the lead there now.

The media's going to be pumping up McCain now more than ever but Florida's a closed primary and he isn't winning the Republican vote as of yet. Things are about to get real interesting...

I'll take McCain (gag) over Flip Romney or Gungrabiani.

That's the only good news here.

No, they don’t pay attention. They follow the latest soundbite or vote for the guy whose name they’ve heard the most. It makes me want to scream.

I’ve voted not for the Republican, but against the Dem in every election except 1984, and I’m d*mned sick and tired of it. I’m not at all sure I’m going to be willing to do it this year. If McCain’s the nominee vs. Hillary I’ll be in the same position I’m in when the Indianapolis Colts play the NE Patriots: as a Steelers fan, I want them both to lose. For the first time in my life, I may very well sit this one out.

It’s all a pose. He’s a push-polling sleaze-bag.

You FredHeads need to stop acting like two-year olds. Yes, Fred was a great candidate, but he lost. By saying you won’t vote, you are giving the election to the Dems.

From CNN in Dec 2005:

They called it back then - Hillary and Rudy

Endorse Rudy or McCain will be unstopable

Rudi? You've GOT to be kidding. Rudy would lose so badly in the general election, it would be pathetic.

Considering your non stop support of socialist Jim Webb in 2006 it pretty obvious you are either a complete fraud lying about your “Conservative” political outlook or a fool so wonderfully ignorant of all facts that you have no idea what a fraud you are supporting.

So which is it MD? Are you a political fool or a political fraud?

No, I like Mitt and Rudy better than John. If any of them is stupid enough to pick Mike for VP, then forget about my vote.

Only on the war on terror issues. Remember there was some hard thinking to become Kerry’s running mate.

South Carolina is a joke today. This is the home of Lindsey Graham and there was no Democrat primary going on so all the rats could show up and vote for McCain today. This is the most meaningless primary vote ever.

With the tight contest in the rat primaries, the approaching contests won’t have nearly as many rat crossover votes helping McCain.

The latest polls show Giuliani, Romney, and McCain all pretty much running even.

Giuliani 21
Romney 20
McCain 20
Huckabee 13
Thompson 7
Paul 5

Heaven knows I’m not going to be calling for Fred to back out after tonight. He’s earned the right to fight all the way through if he wants. But seeing him back out and endorse Romney would look pretty good in my eyes...

That said, I’m not sure if I see Thompson backing out. Or endorsing anyone if he does.

Uh, as anyone who has been around FR for more than 10 minutes knows, I'm not a FredHead. At least, I wasn't until tonight.

I won't vote for a liberal, regardless of what party he's running for. I only vote for conservatives. If you want my vote, be a conservative (and not a phony one like Flip Romney).
