Really? Then how do Democrats ever win statewide races down there? And they do, you know. A guy like Romney has a distinct disadvantage in the South in that he's an elite Yankee with a liberal record. Why on earth would southerners vote for a guy like that? Many wouldn't.

With Romney or Rudy on the ticket the South is in play and that's BAD news for the GOP.

If McCain is the Republican nominee, FRed would endorse him...

If he is not the Republican nominee, McCain will try to be the Demonrat VP candidate just as he did before.

If FRed drops out to endorse McCain, he needs to do it soon in order to help his friend, because FL looks like a close 3-way race: Giuliani, Romney, McCain.

If we knock McCain out before or at the convention, he might go for a 3rd party bid with Colin Powell as his veep.

Excellent post. Bush IS a conservative. I hated, absolutely hated, his Amnesty crap and his whole Islam is a religion of peace nonsense. But he did wonderful things to keep this country safe, maybe not enough but far more than any other option would have, and he appointed kick ass SC judges.

I’m disappointed in this Administration but I’m glad we’ve had it for close to 8 years because the other option is unthinkable.

If Mccain gets the nomination I fear we will see a replay of 1996 where and old GOP war hero near the end of his career was "given" the party nomination because it was his "time"...

I have nightmares of a replay of the 1996 debates where Hillary stands over Mccain as he cowers in his chair like some codger in the old folks home from the mean nurse, just like Dole did in 96.
