So if Hunter endorses Thompson and Thompson drops out and endorses McCain - does that mean Hunter's endorsing McCain?
All I know is that if Thompson endorses McCain when he drops out, it will be the most entertaining thread in FR history.

I guess that might be what McCain was counting on—low turnouts for both parties. Quite a chess game—and humiliating SC conservatives must be delicious for McVain.

I’ll leave the “rationalizing” to Team Romney, and just stick with cold hard reality.

Thompson didnt do what it takes, while others did. No. I guess not. Fred was not complicit in push polls trashing other candidates, or distributing fliers on election day distorting other candidate's records, or repeatedly changing his opinion to be what he thought the voters would buy, or calling a press conference to say he would not run a negative ad which he then showed to the press and wound up running by "mistake" anyway, or starting rumors about another candidate withing 24 hours of a vote that the candidate would be dropping out and supporting another candidate, or pandering to states or regions by telling them whatever they wanted to hear....
I could go on, but there is no point. If this is what it takes, Thompson has not done it. The others have.

“What’s got the Clinton camp scared is that a lot of White women are Oprah fans, and could be swayed to vote Obama”
Obviously that happened in Iowa. Obama didn’t win there on the black vote. Nor did he do as well as he did in New Hampshire or Nevada on the black vote alone. None of those states approach the national average of black population.

Correct me. I thought only independents could vote in either r or d? Hey HC! In SC, you do not register by party. In effect everyone is independent. This year crossover Dems aren't a problem. Hillary and Obama need every vote they can get, and I don't know a single Dem here that cares less who the Repub candidate is. Most don't know who they are.

South Carolina wants somebody who’s tough on immigration so McCain and Huckabee are leading? Somebody is stupid.

Everyone loves McCain! Except any conservatives in the know about him. I thought SC had an illegal alien problem. Dont they know what McCain just tried to do within the last year????? I dont get it. I don't get it either. Remember this guy? Lindsey Graham
To: commish
Well, it is the fault of the voters so far......they are the ones making the decisions. We will see what happens after this open primary.

But Im here for ya. Im happy to let you vent. The rest of the population will thank me. Stay here and chat for awhile. Spare the rest of the world.
Let's straighten a few things out here:
- Never have I seen a Freeper's handle more accurately portray their intellect than does your own.
- You don't "let" me do a damn thing. I post as I see fit and if the founder of this forum or his mods have a problem with that, they'll let me know.
- We have nothing to 'chat' about, quite frankly I don't chat with ignorant people, even alleged 'invincible' ones.
You want to chat? Go have a few laughs with your buddy Petronski.

He is an awful public speaker. He rambles in this slow monotone voice and he appears to be a guy who was just woken up from a nap. I wanted Thompson to be this golden boy savior when it was rumored that he’d come into the race. I watched some speech of his in California last year and I was very saddened that this was the best the right could present to the voters of America. It’s not good enough to be a reliable voter on the issues-— that’s what you require of a congresscritter. A president has to be able to lead, to persuade, to inspire. Fred can’t do that.
