Huckabee, 22% McCain, 21% Romney, 19% Thompson, 12% Giuliani, 10% Ron Paul, 3% Some other Republican (named Duncan Hunter), ?%
My own notes Please note that any Republican is likely to do better in the electoral college than in the general election. Ohio is much more solidly Republican, after they've tasted Democrats running the state; Michigan is sick of their own female, liberal chief executive. And I predict Hillary "beats the spread" in very conservative states (leaving them comfortably Republican), and wastefully piles on the victory margins in very liberal states (NY, etc.), but underperforms in the purplish industrial states like Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and the aforementioned Michigan and Ohio.

Well, if Thompson does (and he will), should make for an interesting day at FR!
McCain and Fred are good friends but have grown apart politically. Chances are Fred would endorse no one.
Which leads me to the second problem with your speculation.
Fred is not dropping out.
My opinion is that neither McCain nor Huck can beat any of the Dems (except Edwards, maybe, and that's not gonna happen.)

Big Business has stopped attempts in the SC state legislature to pass laws that would make it more difficult to hire illegals. Cannot hurt tourism, agriculture, and the one world free traders you know.
At least in much of the Upstate, illegal immigration is not a hot button issue.
So what ? Sheesh, we’ve had 4 states vote so far. For those of us in later-voting states, don’t be so quick to cut us out of the process.
Secondly, Tancredo knew he had no chance even before he got into the race, yet he and Hunter drove the GOP candidates to espouse anti-illegal immigration positions. As long as Hunter sticks around, his very conservative positions will continue to be meaningful in the GOP primaries. Without him, the liberal wing of the GOP will feel free to run to the left as far as they can. Hunter is doing a better job of this than Thompson.
I say, GO HUNTER and stick it to the Rockefeller wing of the GOP.
>> On top of that, which direction do you face him. <<
That’s the beauty of the pumping car... There’s one guy facing each way. It’s like the Pisces astrological sign... Two fish.
Well, that’s an interesting thought. I had planed on putting him on that line that came in from the top. It’s direction being indefinitive, that may have been a better choice.
