Fred Thompson Gets Mad

By Joel Achenbach PROSPERITY, S.C. -- You rarely see Fred Thompson get too riled about anything, but steam was near about shooting from his ears today when he heard at a campaign stop that some of his supporters had received "push poll" calls from a group supporting Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee.

"And have never heard anything but positive stuff. He’s the only one of the candidates I find willing to tell the truth and would vote for him gladly in either the primary or the general. "

I read somewhere that his former wife and his former girlfriend had very positive things to say about him. IMHO, that says alot. lol

Tick, tick, tick, the clock ticks for the Huckster, with every breath and word his foolishness becomes known to more and more people.

Absolutely. Huckster hasn't a prayer of winning. But if our luck is really bad, he might succeed in knocking Fred out of the race and giving it to Romney.

He's attacking Fred, even though he's not one of the "leaders" according to the polls, because Fred appeals to conservative Evangelicals, the same audience that Huck is going after. The difference is that Fred's the real thing, and Huckster is a liar. What does a liar do when his back's to the wall? He lies even harder.

The Huckabee push-pollers are probably McCain operatives trying to arouse more support for McLame.

Yes. I hadn’t paid much attention to Huckabee before he declared for president, but it was also obvious to me.

No way in the world that that cross could have gotten there without the cameraman doing it deliberately. It isn’t just vaguely there; it’s brightly lit and deliberately positioned. It took a lot of work to achieve that effect.

Fred can thank his Senate colleague McCain for CFR that gave us these lovely new 527’s to sleaze opponents.

He’s a phony, low down hypocrite.

He’s NO Christian.

He’s a Carter/Clinton combo hiding behind humanism financed by socialism

I won’t speak ill of my fellow Republicans, but I will freely criticize the Huckster.

So why the disclaimer? It's not as if he is a Republican.

Fred Thompson should say, “Mike Huckabee, you have sinned before the Lord and before everybody else!”

“He is assuming that he can get away with this kind of dirty trick because the time is short. By the time it comes out, it’s on to the next state and the next dirty trick.”

Huckster related groups did push-polling in Iowa, then in Michigan, now in SC.

If we don’t get this guy voted off the island quickly, he is going to stink up the whole campaign season.

It would be great if Thompson pulled out a miracle and trounced Huckster.

But Huck’s campaign is really amateur hour

They are NOT amateur hour. Huckabee and Rollins are shrewdly using the pulpit and bathing this fraud in the words of Christ to appeal to simpletons who apparently don't have internet access, and thus have no idea what how many lies Mike Huckabee tells every day about his record.

Of course, since Huckabee recently hired a Log Cabin Republican who has advocated for gay marriage, you can bet he won't be reading Leviticus 18:22 on a pulpit anytime soon.

It was nice, the crowds keep growing and it is quite nice to seem him in these small home like settings. I know, it’s not the bigger places but I think this might work.

Look at the other candidates schedules today;

Mike Huckabee: 11 a.m., General Aviation Terminal, Myrtle Beach; 3 p.m., Jervey Athletic Center, Clemson, with Chuck Norris and Ric Flair

John McCain: 9 a.m., Aiken Municipal Center, 214 Park Ave. SW, Aiken; 12:30 p.m. S.C. McCain headquarters, 1600 Gervais St., Columbia; 5:15 p.m., Black River Electric Co-op, 1121 N. Pike, Sumter

Mitt Romney: 9:15 a.m., Glenn Springs Academy, 195 Boys Home Road, Pauline; 11 a.m., Greenville Tech High School, 506 S. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville

Fred Thompson: 10:00 a.m. Thompson will participate in radio town hall at the Sunset Grill in West Columbia; 12:20 p.m. meet-and-greet at Stable Steak House in Prosperity; 2:10 p.m. Thompson will tour downtown Newberry; 6:00 p.m. meet-and-greet at Ryan’s Steakhouse in Clemson.

Now tell me, whose road trip today seems more genuine, who’s going to the people. Fred of course. We just have to pray it works.

"It would be great if Thompson pulled out a miracle and trounced Huckster."

It sure would make me feel better about my fellow Americans, fellow conservatives and most importantly, my brothers and sisters in Christ!

Huckabee is a scumbag, a truly vile human being that goes well beyond being a dishonest politician, like Romney, or an unapologetic liberal, like McCain.

So Huckster and his God-awful campaign is at it again, with bottom-of-barrel campaign techniques.

Politics before country.

Huckabee's drive for his own want in being POTUS wont be stopped by worry of destroying the definition of political decency or our form of government for all that matters.

He sure act's like a democrat who put on the wrong clothing.
