A good family foundation is a plus for a strong leader in the New World! Sure, but it has little relation to public ethics and honesty.
Many of the worlds most crooked leaders have also had very good marraiges.
Well Romney has a honorable family relations which carries over into his work ethic!

Romney is going to be the Republican partys nominee. Better get used to it. Beats the heck out of McCain or Huckabee.

No conservative on earth could see Romney and Hillary on the same ballot and pull the lever for “Other.”

I would write in someone like Hunter or Thompson.
Romney’s a liberal.

Romneys a liberal. Free Republic...where Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney are tagged with the same political designation by phony conservatives 24/7.

Free Republic — where RomneyBots pretend to support Thompson and don’t bother to read the RomneyTruthFile.

I support Fred Thompson. I’ll support Mitt if he’s the Republican nominee...and so will every real conservative in the country.

I support Fred because he’s a conservative. I do not support Romney because he is a liberal.
Fred losing to Romney does not somehow turn Romney into a conservative.
So, actually, I am the consistent conservative. I don’t vote for liberals.

If RINOs are the best we can get, then its proof positive that its time to endure the short term inconvenience, and then get on to rebuilding a solid healthy environment. Think we are far beyond a 'four year' inconvenience and would offer that totalitarian marxism is not a simple or short pennance for bad choices... Recovery from our enemies 'within' will never be an exercise of 'easy'.
Political Correctness is the Left's marxist weapon; it puts populations to sleep; suspends individual judgment and eventually the exercise of 'Free Will'. PC mind is designed to move one into compliant surrender and then render the individual 'null and void'.
Truly believe; that this is a battle for the collective soul of America; for the individual mind of it's citizens. Not in my best scenario; do I think we would save ourselves in four years. . .not from these people who lust for the exercise of power over another; and so dedicate their life, to stealing yours.
(Show me a country that surrenders itself to the 'insidious'; 'then finds itself; and returns to a Reasoned sanity in four years - or eight - or even if in one lifetime. . .)

I dont know anything about McCains family, but I do get an unhappy feeling when I see his wife. Shes very tense or troubled or something... just dont know.
Have always thought she was kind of wierd; 'had issues'. . .something. Read/see little about her. Know her 'past'; just never hear about her 'recent past'. Where she is today.

Then I guess our nation no longer exists, because we did survive eight years of Bill Clinton. You do remember that right? Oh yes, well there is that.
Somehow it escapes you that our nation continually moves left, even with republicans in office. I have mentioned that over the last fifty odd years, our nation has moved massively left. Let's look at forty years of it. Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush I and Bush II held office since 1968. On the other side Carter and Clinton did. Out of forty years we controled things 28 years, or 70% of the time. Our boys appointed seven of nine current Supreme Court justices, and if that doesn't hit you right between the eyes, then you're simply immune to reason.
How has our military faired over the forty years? Is it better today?
How has education faired over the forty years? Is it better today?
How is our sovereignty fairing now compared to forty years ago? Are we controling our borders, keeping out basic threats?
What about those Supreme Court justices? Can we rest assured our rights will be protected, specifically the second amendment?
Do you realize we had 500,000 troops on the ground in Iraq in 1992? Today we are stretching things very thin to put 160,000 there. Isn't that an important marker?
It's that way across the board, and yet I have people chastizing me for saying we have to reverse the direction. And if we have to reverse the direction, then we're going to have to shake some things up and quit trying the same failed tactics. THIS IS NOT WORKING! If you don't agree then it's pointless to continue the discussion. Do you or do you not think we have moved incredibly farther left since 1968?
Political Correctness is the Left's marxist weapon; it puts populations to sleep; suspends individual judgment and eventually the exercise of 'Free Will'. PC mind is designed to move one into compliant surrender and then render the individual 'null and void'.
While I agree with you regarding PC utilization and the end results, I am seeing a very proplematic suspension of individual judgement and exercise of 'Free Will' ont he right. The folks on our side, are simply refusing to look back and acknowledge that, one we have a serious problem and two we have to do something different if we're going to correct that problem.
Waxing rhapsodic about how evil the other side is, is pointless if our military, our education, our judical appintments, other issues and even our sovereignty are compromised under our own team's management. Yes, of course the left is terrible. Their goals are downright defeatist and even IMO sinful. Now, why do you continue to support a framework that is implementing their goals?
Truly believe; that this is a battle for the collective soul of America; for the individual mind of it's citizens. Not in my best scenario; do I think we would save ourselves in four years. . .not from these people who lust for the exercise of power over another; and so dedicate their life, to stealing yours.
Unbefrickenlievable? You are so focused on the enemy in name only, that you are absolutely blinded to our own team's complicity. This is the problem. Leftists(D) and Leftsits(R). They are all leftists.
Very few aren't, and they can't get elected because Leftists are the leading candidates in BOTH parties. Big "L", little "l", they're both taking us to the same destination, and I am getting extremely frustrated that people who should be able to understand this, have decided not to because it is inconvenient.
(Show me a country that surrenders itself to the 'insidious'; 'then finds itself; and returns to a Reasoned sanity in four years - or eight - or even if in one lifetime. . .)
Beautiful. Okay, then you have just committed to surrender the the Leftists(R). You have attained victory for you cause. Congrats.
Show you a nation? Okay, walk outside your front door and take a good look There it is. March back inside and start looking at the changes in our nation over the last forty years and get with the program.

Ditto that, but I'm thinking Fred is the best and hope he can win in the end. But at least I won't be gagging in Nov if Romney is on the ballot. I'll be gagging while I do it, but I can at least go to the polls and pull the Republican lever for Romney. That I can't do for McLame or the Huckabus

To: DoughtyOne
Thank you as well, DoughtyOne ;^).
Even part of his/congress spending could be justified in part for stimulating the economy, which benefited the nation in no small measure.
Have often compared/defended Bush's extravagance to how we respond to a very sick patient. We try and 'gift' them back to health; get their spirits 'up'. . .reward the heck out of them so as to nurture; stir and motivate them back to health.
Our Country was seriously wounded/traumatized on 9/11 and think Bush responded in full.
And lest we forget, much of our budget/over-spending; as well; went into 'rehab'; prevention. . .and then there was Katrina. . .the tsumami. . .the earthquakes/fires. . .floods. . .and the ever-growing price of terrorism. . .and our 'security' in light of. . .
Do not think any President has so endured; particularly against the backdrop of political vitriol/degradation and hate. . .and political mutiny within. All while not even enjoying a minimal respect for his 'address' as per what now passes as etiquette. We hear almost exclusively 'MISTER Bush. . .' and 'the President.
'President Clinton' gets more respect by title. . .Not that GW really minds; think his humility overrides here; but still; it would have been nice to hear; and a good example to our Children on the importance 'respect'.
