Your question is an indictment of America, Maica. It confirms my belief that Duncan Hunter is the man who stands head and shoulders above the rest. Not only has he served, but he has kept his honor.

But, you would think that for those who’ve been given so very much that they would sense an obligation....someplace along the line. Especially a political family should sense this.

If McCain were running in the Democrat primary -- vs Clinton, Obama and Edwards -- where do you suppose he would finish?

I think he would be a front-runner, grabbing all the more conservative Democrat votes while the liberal Democrat votes get split 3-ways.

Why do Republicans allow this kind of crossover voting to happen?

######

I don’t know. I hope someone on this thread can enlighten us. Calling someone out so soon, is like deciding who wins a league championship after the pre-season games are played.

The states with closed primaries - where actual Republicans will choose their candidate - will be the ‘regular season.’

Per AP -- Exit polls are showing very good news for Romney.

in 2000 only 48% of voters in the R primary were R's --- today 67% were R's with 25% I and 8% D.

Romney holds a decisive lead in all polls among R's, and it was common knowledge that Mccain needed 40%+ Crossovers to win.

This could end up being a good sized win for Romney

Prediction : If Romney wins by 5%+ -- McCain will CRATER in SOuth Carolina and possibly Nevada.

In the Senate McCain serves himself and his Democrat overlords.

I want to start a campaign to change the phrase "public service" to "self service"!

I'm sick to death of this privileged class in Washington acting all high & mighty and telling us they know what's good for us.

Meanwhile, they all seem to get richer and richer the longer they're there. And I'm not just talking about the pols. They bureaucrats have learned how to leverage their "self service" into lucrative consulting/lobbying jobs when they retire at 50 with that generous pension we give them.

Fred seems to be Marks first choice, and Mitt his second choice!

And Rudy over the other two Huck and McCain before ever letting the Dems have the vote!

He is not against Mitt at all like you folks keep harping!

The whole game might change should Bloomberg enter messing things up again!

I think Bloomberg is considering the independent party!

wow.

Poll workers pushing Obama supporters to vote for Republicans. Thats horrible.

I know the old women working at my polling place were lib’s, since I am a young guy of 24, when I asked for a Republican ballot, they looked at me like I had four heads.

Does anyone really think the DNC will be able to keep Michigan’s delegates from being counted?

HehHeh!...If Billary needs those Mich delegates to put her over the top you can bet she'll have them added in to her totals...ditto for Florida...

I must wonder if Michael Blooomberg may entice McCain to be his running mate, even letting him run as President, should the Arizona senator fail to obtain the nomination. If Romney or Huckabee look like clear winners after Super Tuesday, Bloomberg may look to spend megabucks. With McCain fronting for the billionaire, it is not inconceivable that such a ticket could do as well as Perot in 1992.

I also wonder if Ron Paul may decide to go the third party route, as he does not seem to be spending much of the $25 million he has accumulated. He could probably get the nomination of both the Libertarian and Constitution Parties. Not that Paul will get more than 2-3%, but that can be crucial. If Nader had not run on the Green Party ticket in 2000 and received such a level of support, Gore would almost certainly have carried Florida without a contest.

That’s some evidence to support my gut feeling that Romney is no different than Huckabee—despite all the Huckabee bashing that goes on around here.

You may be right. I got to thinking about it and concluded that McCain would definitely be competitive in a four-way race.

Consider, too, that in an open primary, he wouldn't attract all that many Republicans over the line to vote for him in a Democrat primary.

McCain would run extremely well as a Democrat.

Romney’s record on economical and business issues is outstanding. I believe we will need him as president because of that alone. I trust him more than others on the immigration issue. Both Tom Tancredo and Joe Arpaio trust him on this also...they probably have a good reason. I don’t have a problem with someone who sees a different side of something and can adjust their way of thinking on an issue.

Good luck with Hillary. She will give you some more judges like Ruth.

Uh huh. What kind of judges do you expect "gang of 14" mccain to give you? He hassled Alito quite a bit. He ultimately voted yes to Alito, but still giving him a hard time nonetheless.

Mccain and Huck are libs in conservatives clothing.

Thanks. Now the race gets turned topsy turvy....just in time for the Red States!

Good news indeed.

My first choice is Hunter.

My second choice is Thomspon.

And If these 2 are out then I can tolerate Mitt Romney.

But no way in Hades will I ever vote for Huckabee or McCain.

Agreeed, but I'd vote for Huckabee or McCain over Hillary.

“Poll workers pushing Obama supporters to vote for Republicans. Thats horrible.”

So the Clinton Machine will skew 2 elections in one day?
Their evil knows no bounds.
