I must wonder if Michael Blooomberg may entice McCain to be his running mate, even letting him run as President, should the Arizona senator fail to obtain the nomination. If Romney or Huckabee look like clear winners after Super Tuesday, Bloomberg may look to spend megabucks. With McCain fronting for the billionaire, it is not inconceivable that such a ticket could do as well as Perot in 1992.

I also wonder if Ron Paul may decide to go the third party route, as he does not seem to be spending much of the $25 million he has accumulated. He could probably get the nomination of both the Libertarian and Constitution Parties. Not that Paul will get more than 2-3%, but that can be crucial. If Nader had not run on the Green Party ticket in 2000 and received such a level of support, Gore would almost certainly have carried Florida without a contest.

With McCain on that ticket it would be hard to discern which party they'd draw their voters from. I'd be inclined to say they'd hurt the donkeys more.

Based on the support I see in more liberal internet forums, I bet McCain would get more support from the Democrat side than the Republican side.

Woah, if McCain and Paul both go third party, I bet that would be a sure Republican win. 3 parties critical of Bush splitting the vote 3 ways? Go McCain/Bloomberg and Paul/??? Go!

Ron Paul may very well go third party but he is spending his money. I should know, I get glossy mailings and phone calls from his campaign all the time.

#253...Good point Wallace...a McCain/Bloomberg 3rd party ticket is not out of the works but i wonder if McCain would be happy playing second fiddle to Bloomie...if so, only because of the money...I think McC and Lieberman may be closer philosophically but they don’t have the money for a national campaign..right now anyway...

Not sure what McCain will do..At his age, he has one last shot at the title...soo....
