There is a related article on this and similar events, in the Australian (which, as I understand it, does not permit articles to be posted on FR). This one is worth reading (if you like lurid, funny stories):

Wrong solution. It does no good to know the parents who are probably dead or scattered to the winds. It WOULD do good to know of siblings.

If this happened to me I’d be pretty freaked out.

Because of this one-in-a-zillion case, Britain wants to write a new law.

Sorry folks, this smells like pure BS to me.
How could they meet and marry and not know that they shared the same birthday and were born in the same town? They both knew they were adopted.
Pure bs.

Uh oh - better not let Jeremy Clarkson hear about this one.

Lesson: don't marry someone born on the same day in the same year as yourself. Of course that doesn't help with siblings who are not twins.
It seems to me I heard recently of a married couple who did have the same birthday, born same year, but there was no reason to think they were really siblings.

That’ll put a knot in the ol’ family tree.

Where do you get your U.S. figures? Not from the U.S. census. Besides, even if we have a couple of million tucked up there in Dearborn, there is little to no cultural impact on America at large. Britain, much to my chagrin, has been heavily influenced by Islam. More people attend the “Mosque of England” every day than the Church or England, “Mohamed” and derivatives thereof have become the most popular baby names in places like Wales! Whole swaths of London look like a red brick Islamabad. I love the U.K., but multiculturalism and unrestricted, non-integrated Muslim immigration have changed it forever.

Can you imagine what you would feel as you came to the realization?
It would be too much to take in all at one time. And with your whole family there while you found out?
And both sides of your family at that (well, "both" and the same)!!
