About a dozen senior campaign staffers for Rudy Giuliani are foregoing their January paychecks, aides said Friday, a sign of possible money trouble for the Republican presidential candidate.
"We have enough money, but we could always use more money,'' contended Mike DuHaime, Giuliani's campaign manager and one of those who now is working for free. "We want to make sure we have enough to win.''
At the end of December, he said the campaign had $11.5 million cash on hand, $7 million of which can be used for the primary. He disputed the notion of a cash-strapped campaign, and said Giuliani continues to bring in cash; several fundraisers are scheduled this week in Florida.

No matter whose campaign it is, it’s never an encouraging sign when campaign staffers start working for free.
“Its all about money. Rudy is the only candidate who can raise $100 million dollars. He is the only one who can get elected.” - often repeated quote from hundreds of Giuliani supporters last year
Follow the money.
Is there a new Mistress anywhereabouts?
Staffers working for free are saying they don’t have money troubles? They have mortgages and car payments. They aren’t doing this because the money situation is ok.
Heh. That picture of Rudy in drag killed him with potential online supporters for sure.
Dear Stafffers : you are freaking STUPID.
and I have a typo ... crap ... lol
Rudy’s probably got more money than all of the combined. If the campaign $ isn’t there, can’t he pay them himself? Not a rhetorical question; I really don’t know.
He disputed the notion of a cash-strapped campaign, and said Giuliani continues to bring in cash...
You bet he does...
..maybe Rudy can raffle off some of his dresses on E-Bay...
But...but...julieann was the only one who could beat the hildabeast. lololololol

I took some time and looked back in the 3rd quarter 2007 filings at the internals of the campaign finance filings.
Salary expenditures for Q3 as of Sept 30 showed McCain paying people 910K, though his previous report was much higher and showed he paid salaries for all of 2007 to date at that time about $4 million. That was the time period when he shut down everything after Comprehensive Immigration Reform, if you recall.
Romney paid salaries of $2 million in Q3. About the same amount for Guilliani. Hillary and Obama, about double that each.
So given that the estimate is 750 million dollars must be spent by the final two going all the way to November, and top end quarterly salaries of $2-4 million, it does not seem to make sense for people to take pay cuts other than for symbolism. $2 million per quarter is nothing as a percentage of the total. One wonders if the symbolism of sacrifice to the lower staff workers is undone by the appearance of fund raising problems.
The big expenses are media buys and to a lesser extent consultants (pollsters). Travel is also only $1-2 million per quarter for a top tier campaign.
The lower tiers, of course, can spend less because 1) they don’t compete everywhere and 2) they are lower tier.
hehehehe
LOL, it doesn’t have to be a mistress, Judi is quite capable of running through all the money herself.
Excuse me while I don't shed any tears. This is just like an entrepreneur forgoing paychecks from his business in expectation of making many times that later.
To be fair, Rudy did have one real thing working for him. He was a hard nosed bastard who turned New York City around, from a cess pit that people were fearful to visit to a prosperous tourist mecca. He was never nice, but he was effective.
But he also has many things working against him, as we all know. And in the end they far outway his unpleasant but effective competence. I’m willing to give him his due, while saying that I still wouldn’t touch him with a ten foot pole because of his abominable positions on abortion, gay rights, illegal immigration, and gun control.
For all those reasons, there is no way on earth that he could win the election, and the money people who supported him were delusional to think he could.
