It is also possible that McCain is in there for Thompson. McCain will not win the nomination.

Well, they've certainly tag-teamed in the past. We shall see. All I know is, I like Thompson a whole lot more than McCain.

Does Romney get a royalty check whenever they sell one of those little men on top the wedding cake?

Best line on the thread! ROFL. (Although Romney did quite decently tonight - I put him at #2)

“Right ... drive up to your local
restaurant, and try to filter
the smut out of their cooking
grease and see how far your car
will go on it.”

If the price of gasoline goes much higher, then that is what I may well be doing. Fortunately, I live one mile from work and I can walk... Unfortunately, my wife must drive 34 miles to teach a bunch of creepy high school brats the finer points of Spanish.

“Global geo-politics is a delicate
pursuit.”

Especially when you try to play both sides against the middle... the enemy of my enemy is my friend... until he becomes my enemy, whom I armed to the teeth with very nasty weaponry. George Washington was no dummy: entangling alliances are just that — They bring the downfall of nations... from the smallest third-world dung-heap to the greatest empire.

“Until the libs in Congress decide
we can build more refineries and
drill in ANWR, much as we disavow
what the Saudis represent, we have
a need for basic and economic survival,
I think.”

Maybe we should be filling the gas tanks of known anti-energy AGW liberal fruit-loops with that greasy slop you were advising above. Let see them fly their private Gulfstream V on that.

“The day of reckoning may be coming soon.”

I think it is already here... some are just too caught up in idiotic distractions to see the obvious.

He’s said all that cr*p before. How does he wake up every morning, look in the mirror and keep on saying it?

It’s such a stinking lie! I feel like he slapped me in the face with a rotten fish!

I made my first “calls for Fred” today - just using some free minutes from my son’s cell phone.

"He blamed Americans - not the governmment, lol.

" You understand the point! He can't prove to us that anything he says now will be done. The fawning media and lavish accomodations he likes won't help him anymore. He did nothing to secure the border since '86. And he was a Senator that could have.

Romney... "Handling world affairs used to be like checkers, Today it's more like three dimensional chess" Great analogy and excellent follow up on world affairs ..."\

Please. World affairs has NEVER been "like checkers," not in a thousand years. One of two possibilities: A) Romney is talking down to the audience like they were kindergartners, or B) Romney actually believes that ridiculous analogy.

I had to think about what you said...everything you said is correct..But i got the impression that McCain was blaming the government for not finishing the fence because he said several times that he is from Arizona and that fence is still not complete down there and it is ‘broken’ and he wants it fixed.

He did blame Americans too but it seemed he was referring to two different time periods..He seemed to imply that at one time-years ago- Americans did accept (illegal) immigrants but now years later Americans are against illegal immigrants..Even the interviewer- i think it was Colmes- asked if he had changed his thinking about illegals/amnesty and McCain said no..It sure sounded to me like he has changed his thinking- he was all for amnesty but now he is especially against the criminal illegals..Now he is more pro-build the fence, and is more anti-criminal illegal immigrants, but he said he still would like to see humane treatment of the other 10 million immigrants..How he would reconcile all those problems is another matter..I don’t think he knows- he did say they would all have to work together to work up a good immigration bill...

Sorry if this is wordy but it’s late and too tired to proofread and condense it...

Reagan coalition .... GHW Bush?

Arrrrguhh!!! Choke, puke, hack... Whiskey! I need whiskey!

How can you mention Reagan and ANY Bush in the same breath?
The Bush-RINO circus has single-handedly destroyed everything Reagan worked for.

Romney is clearly the brains of this outfit.

Yeah. So brainy that he thinks world affairs used to be like checkers, compared to the chess game it is today. *rolls eyes* Sorry, though I think Romney's probably an upright and sincere guy, when it comes to foreign policy on a complex world stage, "brainy" HE AIN'T.

A branch of my family has been in New Mexico since before it was a state.

My dad was born in Artesia in 32. His dad helped build the Carlsbad highway.

My great grandad is buried in Las Cruces.

My great uncle once had the largest Hwy engineering firm in New Mexico in Santa Fe.

Mr Mojo’s link at post 2840 says otherwise.

Respectfully.

Well..you kind of have to keep history in mind too...After Jimmy Carter’s malaise, 21% interest, 14% inflation, huge unemployment, and mis-micromanagement of the economy and the military, anything would have been an improvement..Reagan was the right man at the right time and God Bless him but he did one terrific job- He and his economic advisors and the Congress working together..Nancy helped too, just a bit..:-)..They were all the right people, just when the country needed them
