Kirsten Powers, dimocRAT strategist/analyst/whatever.
:)
“Why do H & C have on two dem strategists? Dont we have any republican pundits?”
They’re desperately trying to stop the Fred Thompson freight train.
That is the only combination of the candidates I could tolerate, except Thompson/Hunter, of course.
The rule was set up to allow candidates based on national poll results. Even though Duncan Hunter has won a delegate and Rudy Giuliani hasn’t (though he has a party-hack one from maine, I think :-), Duncan Hunter doesn’t come close to making the cutoff on the national polls.
I think he really shot himself down with his poor strategy...he needed to get out and campaign a bit to build recognition earlier, not just rely on Wyoming.
Ron Paul was polling over 5% in the national polls, so he was in.
Late response, but you have to be from the south, right?
Bless His Heart, LOL!
(I married into a family originally from KY, and get the “Bless His/Her Heart” thing all day long. There were more than a few that blessed my little heart at the beginning...)

“Rudy has been underestimated.
My perception of Guiliani is that he has a good heart, but needs to be less trusting. He has a tendency to connect to people/individuals on a personal level, and could be naive about their duplicitous nature.”
He is a paradox to say the least..a brilliant guy but with too many liberal ideas..Maybe it was just because he ran for office in NY City, but for me the test was that he appointed so many liberals and Democrats to different positions when he could have appointed more Reppublicans and moderates-conservatives...As a US Attorney and prosecutor in NY City he was dynamite with over 4000 convictions and only 6 loses..He’s also pro-abortion and anti-gun...not the way to win over conservatives...
But tonight Fred showed his brilliance too..He can really think on his feet and he had solid answers to the questions..He put on a clinic tonight..
Duncan was left out in the cold. He’s getting the Ralph Nader treatment.
I’m so thrilled (yes, I tivo’d the debate, so I’m behind). GO FRED!!!!!
Frank Luntz up next with “the bogus groups”
Will they push Fred or pan him this go around?
I dislike this Luntz fellow
See post # 3290
Factor in what may be a tanking economy and a lot of dynamics may change. And of course, any International crisis. It’s going to be an interesting year.
Thompson may have needed to go “win” vs. McCain even more than Huckabee. He demurred.
Luntz’ group says that he won but may be too little, too late and still doesn’t necessarily appear to be the guy who will win in November.
Just sayin’.
Romney shook hands with Thompson, after Thompson tore into Huckabee.
That splains it.
A Thompson/Romney ticket would not surprise me.
Santorum Defends His Undefensable Support for Specter
When Senator Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) --- an articulate, courageous defender of the unborn --- endorsed and campaigned for the pro-abortion, anti-life Senator Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) against the pro-life Rep. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) in the GOP primary, many pro-lifers were puzzled and outraged. Why would Santorum do such a thing? For that, I cannot forgive him. Do it once, do it again. Party over principle is why this country is being flushed.Well, in a column in Crisis magazine, Santorum has defended and explained his support for Specter as the right decision. But, what he says is sad because he reveals that he did what he did, basically, for partisan political reasons --- for reasons that put party over principle.
Who was the poll sponsor?
